If OJ makes it down to 10 at Buffalo that could be a spot to trade up for him.  Probably we would be looking at our 1st and 2nd round pick this year and next years 3rd rounder.  OJ Howard looks like one of the elite offensive players of this draft, and the best TE prospect since Tony Gonzalez.  An elite TE would help Eli as he gets older as a reliable short/intermediate range target, and should be a dominant red zone threat.  It is pricey move, but possibly a low risk one, and could be the type of all in move that puts in the super bowl.  I doubt there is anyway Tennessee passes on him at 5, but if he drops a bit, it sure is tempting.

With the signing of TE Rhett Ellison & WR Brandon Marshall, is a 1st round TE off the table?

If our standard package is going to be 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB, it is hard to find more than 40%of the snaps playing time for another TE. Between the number of targets to spread around, and spliting playing time with a blocking TE or WR3, and some promise shown by Jerrel Adams as a recieving TE, it is difficult to see the value.

Personally I think Engram/Howard/Njoku would be great additions, but I have a hard time believing this front office sees that as a need now.

NFL Draft, NY Giants style / Players at 23
February 21, 2017, 07:26:11 AM
Positions & players I think are most likely in consideration at 23:

TE: David Njoku/Gerald Everett
If Njoku were there, which I don't think he will be, this would be a tremendous pick.
The universal belief leaving the Senior Bowl had O.J. Howard as the big winner at the tight end position.  But a number of teams rated Gerald Everett of South Alabama equal to Howard last week.
Everett was impressive both days he participated in practice and though he has a size deficiency compared to other tight ends, teams view him as the truest deep threat and downfield playmaker at the position.  There

An outstanding article available from the SI vault, written by Johnny Unitas on the fundamentals of quarterbacking.  A great read for anyone with an interest in the position.
