Not a priority, but as I watch the lead up to the draft, I will be happy to not see Payton Mannings puss for a while. He has literally become dog shyte! He's everywhere

Quote from: katkavage on April 25, 2024, 08:35:50 PMMaye will struggle if they put him out there too early. Pats are devoid of much talent.
Quote from: AZGiantFan on April 25, 2024, 02:11:39 PMHe hasn't shown that the talent, and the health needed to exploit it, is still there for 3 years.
Quote from: AZGiantFan on April 23, 2024, 09:02:18 PMBut who wants a player whose motivation is making up the money the divorce is costing him? And then there is the element of the mental and emotional distraction. It may be harsh, but this makes me want to cut him even more.
Quote from: PSUBeirut on April 22, 2024, 02:32:55 PMThe guy that sticks out to me as most surprising will always be Thomas Lewis. That dude was NOWHERE on my radar or anyone else's in the 1st round. I just remember watching the draft and the hosts all scrambling to see who he was and they didn't even have a graphic for the guy so all they patched together was a random screen shot with his helmet on from some game film. So embarrassing.
Quote from: ozzie on April 22, 2024, 01:37:45 PMIt's funny you brought this up, Rich. Just yesterday my friend and I were discussing that in the NFL, if you're drafted anywhere in the first 3 rounds, you're expected to contribute almost immediately. If you get drafted into the NHL or MLB, it could be years before the club brings you up to the "Big Squad". You play in their system, get conditioning and coaching and they groom you to be ready for the big leagues. There are exceptions of course, but most draftees are given time to develop.
I don't know how the NBA handles this as I am not a big hoops fan.
Funny how different leagues take different approaches to this.
