Big Blue Huddle / NGT: Joka now has a chip

Now KT will be even more obnoxious and this trade situation will be looked at with huge scrutiny.

Quote from: EDjohnst1981 on February 17, 2023, 07:10:09 AMAn interesting move, that will rightly attract criticism of nepotism.

Not as much as Andy Reid hiring his son.

Quote from: bamagiantfan on February 15, 2023, 04:59:30 PMOne of my favorite players. They were always a better team when he was playing. He played with an intensity and ferocity his body just couldn't match. I wish him well.

I'm thinking our Strength and Conditioning staff is partly culpable in these rash of injuries to our WRs (as well as that God awful field).

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Bobby Skinner on Evan Neal

Quote from: zephirus on February 10, 2023, 09:36:35 AMBeing a big Alabama fan I have to say that the offensive linemen they pump into the NFL are pretty pedestrian and I thought that about Neal at the time he was drafted.

I know Evan Neal is one of the hot button topics amongst Giants fans but the bottom line is that they're pretty much obligated to keep him at tackle for another year and cross their fingers he improves.  He's not Andrew Thomas - so theres no guarantee that happens but I can't imagine they move a top 10 pick inside to guard after only a single season.  There's also some pretty strong evidence that he was a missing link - when he was injured the offense was pretty bad.

H's not Andrew Thomas...but he's not Erick Flowers either.

Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on February 08, 2023, 09:29:07 AMThe morning news (can't remember, either NY Post or NJ.com) had an article on Bradberry who said he liked the Giants and was open to returning to the blue uniform

Could just be rhetoric to try to maximize his potential FA dollars  :-??

He says that AFTER he says he took his release personal and felt vindicated by exacting revenge on eliminating the team from the play-offs that eliminated him from the tea,

I doubt the Giants would want to pay him 20+ even though they have the money to do it.

Quote from: Symphony Steve on February 08, 2023, 09:20:39 AMHe bet on himself, and won.

Which is why he'll almost certainly be one and done in Philly.

Especially if he gets a chip on Sunday.  The Eagles can't afford his asking price and they won't pay 2 corners mega money.

We could have paid him that to stay a Giant, but he turned down any and all pay cuts or restructure.

He just didn't want to be a Giant.

If we can keep the Front Office we have together for some years. I'm confident you will see a chnge in the acquisition and retention of talent for the Giants.

Its not hard to get and retain talent when talent wants to play for your team.

We do however need to get better in the Strength and Conditioning of our players and better health management.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Thibs comments yesterday on Twitter
February 03, 2023, 09:38:14 AM

i remember a time when people's opinions about you either didn't matter or you used it as motivation material to prove them wrong with your play.

Now...everyone feels the need to go back and forth with people whose opinions about you don't even matter.

Quote from: TrueBlueFan on January 27, 2023, 10:35:37 AMI bolded once each, players I would like at the 25 spot, Rice is a slight reach though

Clark Phillips is productive, but his size is a major concern for me

I'm not sure we want to pick WR in the first round...we don't have much luck going that route (OBJ, Nicks)

Golliday & Toney.

Ojulari, Williams & McKinney had injuries and were great players prior to them.

Quote from: Ed Vette on January 22, 2023, 10:48:59 AMMost don't agree with me but he's not athletically the same after those injuries. He's an excellent RB and dual threat but he's in a class with about a dozen other backs with 4.4 YPC. He had one hole you could drive a truck through last night and the rest of his game was 8 carries for 22 yards.

Which actually supports trying to bring him back on a modest contract and upgrade the OL so he can have more holes "holes you could drive a truck through".

Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on January 23, 2023, 09:30:40 AMReading the morning news and found an article insisting that Schoen must rid himself of "good feelings" and "nice stories" and be cold-blooded, willing to do anything to improve the team. Do you think he will be cold-blooded?

https://nypost.com/2023/01/22/joe-schoen-must-now-be-cold-blooded-for-giants-to-take-next-step/

Watching the Bills go down in flames, I wonder if they are going to be cold-blooded.

Quote from: MightyGiants on January 23, 2023, 09:30:01 AM@state_property and @Bob In PA

I looked up the PFF rookie grades for the three guys mentioned.

Flowers  54.9
Thomas   62.4
Neal     41.7

Rich...screw the stats...the play on the field was more telling.  Neal will be better than he was this year.
