For what it's worth, McCarthy was on Rich Eisens podcast. He said he spent the most time with the Giants and extolled the staff, loving Daboll and Kafka.

"They are not about to hand the keys to the Giants fortunes to a rookie." That is the idea, but I wouldn't call what those keys hold a fortune. This is a rebuild. You start with the QB if you can get him. Receivers are useless without a QB. Team building begins with the QB, then the offensive and defensive lines, followed by linebackers and defensive backs, with receivers and running backs the last of the pieces. 

Got to be a QB. And I trust that whatever QB they choose, they are confident enough to feel he can be a franchise QB. Much much easier to find a receiver than a QB.

I think he will be a good player in the NFL. He throws a beautiful ball, the best of the bunch. But I don't think he is a fit for the Giants. He needs to come to a team that has the parts ready, offensive line, receivers, etc. He would be perfect in Minnesota with Jefferson. And they would be silly to trade up and give up draft picks for one of the other QBs who need time to adjust to the NFL. He has played two years injury free so I don't think that is as big an issue as it's made out to be. And he actually can run; he's fast, but I think because of the injuries he was hesitant to run the past two years.

Falcons Penix makes little sense. An older rookie who won't play as long as Cousins is under contract and healthy. Don't see it when they have other needs where there are players that can help them compete immediately.

Maye means trading up..losing our #2 and next year's #1 at least. That's a big swing. And there no reason to believe that couldn't be bested by another team.

Don't know what the Pats think. I don't see Denver giving up so many picks to get to three. Minnesota really is ideal for Penix. He would thrive there. Maye needs time to learn and get better. He fits better with the Giants or Pat who will not win next year. The Vikings can compete next year but not if they take a QB who needs to grow. McCarthy as well. I think either McCarthy or Maye are good fits for both the Giants and Pats.

He certainly wouldn't thrive until the team finds a QB. But that could be said of all the receivers.

Great article on why going Qb wouldn't be a bad move from an analyst that was in Buffalo for the Daboll-Allen start.

There many obvious reasons why it would be a good move, but the most obvious is that the Giants don't have real quality at the position that is the most important in the sport.

Bring on the chaos!! Maybe they will win a few chaotic games instead of boring, calm losses.

Everything will start to turn on who the Commander's pick: Daniels or Maye. And then will NE stay put or trade.

Love the guy. My gut is he will shine in the NFL if  put in the right situation.

Surprise. He was an unknown. And no one thought the Giants would draft him. And they were right, they shouldn't have.

It's all going to come down to draft day. The first two, I think are set, but maybe not. Maybe Daniels is not number two, maybe Maye or McCarthy. I think if Maye or McCarthy are there for the Patriots, the Pats pick Maye. I don't see the Vikings giving up three number one draft choices (one next year) for McCarthy and maybe not for Maye either. Both players need a year on the sidelines, maybe even more than a year. The Vikings have a team ready to compete with good receivers, decent OL, and running backs. If the Vikes stand pat, they get Penix, who could prosper in that situation immediately. And they keep their other first round pick to fortify whatever they need. That leaves Arizona. They can trade with the Giants and get either Nabers and/or Harrison. Same with the Chargers. I would not give up the second round pick to the Chargers to move up one spot. I don't see the Raiders or Broncos giving up, or having enough to trade up. That leaves McCarthy. We shall see how the dominoes fall on Thursday.
