Surprised to see smaller area teams like the Winnipeg Jets on that list.

Hey, no one said being a Cowpuke fan was easy. =)) =)) =)) =)) =)) =)) =)) =)) =)) =)) =)) =))

I think the change in currency value has a lot to do with the Canadian hockey teams being all over this list.  6 years ago those tickets would have been about 30% cheaper in US dollars.

When I was living in Maine I did two trips to Quebec City, one in 2007 and one in 2010.  That second one was very expensive in comparison.

The Jets are a heck of a value at 6.

I am planning on making the trip at some point.  Probably be three people in my group and we would be interested in a get together.

When I read these things and they differ so much on one guy from scout to scout it really drives home how inexact prediction to the next level really is.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Vick calls critics 'ignorant'

I have said it before, his biggest problem is in between his ears.

He is a turnover machine and the "coach killer" label given by Jim Mora has once again been proven.  2010 was an anomaly but for some reason three years later media still talks about him "returning to 2010 form".

If I asked if you want a short, fast QB with a strong inaccurate arm who takes a lot of sacks and turns the ball over a lot what would your answer be?

The height thing is like arm length with the OTs.  Ideally you like to see a certain number and being in that range gives a QB the best chance of success.  Brees and Wilson are exceptions and prove that it can be done but they are both extraordinary athletes.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: VIDEO- Johnathan Hankins -Highlights HD
« on: May 19, 2013, 09:44:40 PM »
I was reading the Lindy's pre-draft guide and they had a topic, "Should have stayed in school". Hankins is listed #1 - "A top 10 talent but a highly disappointing Junior Season and a draft filled with talented Defensive Tackles would've made it easier for Hankins to stay in Columbus."

What was disappointing about his season?

Did they expand?  Seems like anchoring the defense for an undefeated team is only disappointing in not being allowed to play a bowl game.

Grizz you could also make the case that he was definitely getting picked by the end of the 1st round.

Did not take long to find.  I thought he was pretty disruptive in that game.  He seems to run himself out of some plays.  He fought through double teams at points and definitely was in the backfield a bit.

I have not seen tape of the of the Bowl game.  Going to look for it but I wonder how much extra attention Oklahoma gave him or if he was blocked just by Lane Johnson.

"Hankins possesses the length, strength and remarkably light feet to be a star but struggled with conditioning at Ohio State. "

I know he was overweight at one point but every coach I have seen quoted disagrees with this idea that he had conditioning issues.  Why does every reporter still seem to write that this is an issue when he played every single snap ?  With everyone healthy what is the highest percent of snaps any Giants DT will play?

Big Blue Huddle / Re: NGT Anyone betting on Orb?

I am trying to figure out who I want to put in trifectas with Orb.  It really is not a strong field in this race.  Goldencents disappointed in the Derby.

Big Blue Huddle / Pat Kirwan discusses Cullen Jenkins
« on: May 15, 2013, 09:15:47 PM »
Listening to NFL radio tonight when a Packers fan called in to Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwan asking what was missing from the Packers pass rush of a couple of years ago.

Kirwan quickly responded with "Cullen Jenkins".  I don't have exact quotes or text of the conversation but he went on to discuss Jenkin's importance to the Packers pass rush of their super bowl year.  He mentioned that Jenkins ate up double teams by moving down the line and opened things up for Mathews and others.

I hope he can help us in the same capacity, although from what he described scheme had a lot to do with the problems he caused for OLs.

What are the odds he saved his signing bonus?

Gone on bail money for sure.

Actually have heard he is really smart but very puzzling.

Glad I did not get my wish of them drafting him.  I was definitely on that bandwagon.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Kirwan ranks Giants front office #4

Correction- Pat was never GM with the Jets. But I agree that he meant what UConn said.

I stand corrected, for some reason I thought he was a GM but I looked it up and he was not.

I think we could use some depth at CB and RB.

Whoever Kirwan is, what does he mean by, "This team isn't going anywhere...?"

Kirwan is a former GM.  I think he means they will be competitive as long as the philosophy and some front office people remain.  He means they will not disappear from being a perennial title contender, at least that is how I take it.  I listen to him regularly and he has a lot of respect for the way the Giants manage their team.

I really do not care about a lot of numbers when it comes to football.  Over his career I do not remember anyone thinking he was the best QB in the game or even close to those who were considered to be the best.   Very good, but not great is not HOF material in football.
