Commentators' remarks from the recent Olympics - the ones they'd like back.
Weightlifting
"This is Gregoriava from Bulgaria. I saw her snatch this morning during her warm up and it was amazing."
Dressage (horse competition for US viewers)
"This is really a lovely horse and I speak from personal experience since I once mounted her mother."
Gymnast competitor:
"I owe a lot to my parents, especially my mother and father."
Boxing:
"Sure there have been injuries, and even some deaths in boxing, but none of them really that serious."
Softball:
"If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing again."
Basketball:
"He dribbles a lot and the opposition doesn't like it. In fact you can see it all over their faces."
Rowing medal ceremony:
"Ah, isn't that nice, the wife of the IOC president is hugging the cox of the British crew."
Football:
"Julian Dicks is everywhere. It's like they've got eleven Dicks on the field."

Here in the NY area, if you give a pint of blood at certain places, they will reward you with a couple of Mets tickets. That's why there is a shortage in the blood supply.
We just give the stuff away. No bribe needed.

Can any Mets fan advise on this. We normally get tickets online, but I'm not prepared to pay the extra charges. I take it I can purchase tickets at the Stadium or at the Mets Shop?

Not good. Our Continental flight to Edinburgh out of Newark last year had a birdstrike as it was taking off (think it was at around 12,000ft). Thud. Nearly pooped my panties. Hadn't thought about the need to ditch fuel to ensure a safe landing until then.

She beat the Koreans and Chinese at their own sport (taekwando). This 19 year old WelshBrit Olympian had plenty to say about her coach.

You haven't tuned in to the Olympics? I'm flabbergasted. Like The Open, Wimbledon and Tour de France, it gets me another few weeks closer to 5 September.
You probably won't know then that the US are doing okay, they've got a swimmer who I believe goes by the name of Phelps, who is pretty good.
We're doing well in the only sports that really matter, namely rowing and cycling.
