Quote from: Gmo11 on Today at 10:16:52 AMSo why haven't any of them been corrected after two years of disgusting play?  You'd think by now we'd have seen some signs of life but he's as bad as he's ever been.  I agree he's not the prototype guard but neither was Flowers and that guy was at the very least serviceable once Washington moved him to guard.  He was as bad as Neal is now at tackle.  I don't know if Neal will be any good at guard.  He could be just as bad or worse.  But I would like to see it before I dismiss it.
I'm sure when they or if they give up on him at Tackle they will try him at Guard or his next Gig will. I'm not even cautiously optimistic about that.

I think it has to be, yes. And I'm ok with that. The guy has done nothing. I wouldn't mess around with the Wennberg/Cuylle/Roslovic line.

You know there's a quote function, right?

If you're not using it, I think it's rightly assumed you are addressing the Jones "haters".

As such, if you're addressing a wider group and using things like "would you be happy if he wasn't X, Y and Z". It appears you are rating everyone with the same brush as the silly BluesCruz comment - which the vast majority of the Jones critics refrain from.

Just food for thought; I'm not attacking you man and I enjoy your diametrically opposed views to mine and furthermore, I respect them.

I think he was speaking rhetorically. And I also really didn't see anyone being critical but I do notice and like the fact that jones is defended by many no matter what. That isn't a bad thing.

Quote from: AZGiantFan on Today at 01:41:34 PMI'm not as down on Neal as some.  He had injury issues, was adjusting to moving to the right side, and had a terrible position coach.  That's a lot for a young man to overcome.

There isn't a soul here who doesn't want Neal to succeed (and I understand that you weren't saying otherwise). I think where fans might differ from one another is on the subject of how much rope to give him if he is bad early in the upcoming season.

If it were your decision, how long would you be willing to tolerate more bad play from him before making a change, knowing you have Eleumenor right there and that Eleumenor has already played RT at a demonstrably solid level for an NFL team over a meaningful sample size?

Quote from: Philosophers on Today at 11:00:20 AMBelton has always seemed ill-suited to play any type of free safety role.  He played the Cash (hybrid LB/SS) role in college.  I see him and Pinnock as more similar players therefore I believe Nubin will eventually replace Belton.
They are just making him earn it.

What is perplexing is McCloud ending last season as cb2 along with flott in the slot but now they're switched. McCloud is to stuff but with this d you have to have a slot that can tackle.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on Today at 01:57:00 PMSimply making the observation that stuff like this (1) is churned out by every beat writer of every team in the league this time of year and (2) has been proven time and again to have no consistent correlation to anything that happens when the games actually matter is not "getting a head start on criticizing" anyone. It's just making a factually accurate observation.

Further, I didn't tell anyone else how to process this and other info like it. I was simply stating my own stance towards it. I don't see why that needs to be attacked or falsely framed as "getting a head start on criticizing" players. That was not my intention at all.

Not to mention having mckethan or whatever warm body was next to him.
