Daniel Jones
NEW YORK GIANTS QB
The Giants reportedly dabbled with replacing their rehabbing investment, whose ball-security issues returned behind a porous line in 2023. Perhaps Malik Nabers can restore his fortunes.

Quote from: LennG on Today at 11:28:21 AMYesterday, on Disney, they released a film that hasn't been shown in over 50 years. 'Let It Be' is a movie that hasn't been shown anywhere for 50 years and now, restored is being shown on Disney starting yesterday.
Since we are true die-hard Beatles fans and will gobble up anything new about them, we grabbed our after-dinner snacks and sat down to watch and we weren't disappointed.

https://www.salon.com/2024/05/07/beatles-let-it-be-review-disney-plus/

We had previously watched the 3-part (6 hour I believe) film by Peter Jackson, "Get Back" which we also loved but there were parts in Get Back that really could have been eliminated and probably 3 hours would have been sufficient, but now, with Let It Be, basically 90 minutes telling how and showing most of the Beatles last concert on the rooftop, was superb.

If you are a Beatles fan, this is Can't Miss TV.

I haven't seen this yet, (don't have Disney), but I'm sure I will someday. Not sure if this was pointed out in the film or not, but in the second picture above, "Get Back Take 1," the young man you see on the left with dark hair and wearing a tie, is a young Alan Parsons of The Alan Parsons Project. At the time he was a 20 year old kid employed at Abbey Road Studios. He set up the cabling for the rooftop concert. He's also listed as Assistant Engineer on the Beatles' albums Let it Be and Abbey Road. His duties included being the tape operator and "teaboy" (fetched tea for the fab four during recording sessions). Not a bad gig for an 18 year old, or at least he was when recording began for Let it Be in 1968.

Quote from: AZGiantFan on Today at 12:48:48 PMTotally agree.  Not surprised that Florio is one of the ones trying to mountainize this molehill.

Mike has a long history of doing that.  Sometimes, he succeeds, but more often than not, he fails in his efforts.

QuoteDaniels and Nabers shouldn't have publicized their bet, because they'll almost certainly hear about it from the league now that it's out. But it's ultimately a lot to do about nothing. Save the faux outrage for when it's necessary.

Totally agree.  Not surprised that Florio is one of the ones trying to mountainize this molehill.

I listened to Pat Leonard's recent podcast.  He is trying very hard to make this a story.  He cited the comments by the Seahawks GM; he claims to have heard from his own inside sources, and he declared that Daniel Jeremiah is no longer just a draft guru but an NFL insider as well.

He never mentioned that Schoen and Lock himself denied the claims. As a sports journalist, Leonard was required to report all the relevant facts, not cherry-pick them to pursue his self-serving agenda.

I had sort of been warming up to Pat of late, but I am troubled by what I consider his less-than-honest reporting.  I am not even saying Pat had to believe Schoen's or Lock's claims, but it was dishonest not to include them in is reporting.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on May 08, 2024, 07:47:31 PMYup. That game was a complete fiasco. One of the worst performances in franchise history if not the worst. We looked like an expansion team going up against the defending SB champs in that game. Even worse than that, actually. More like a college team playing a good NFL team.

We were only a 2 or 3 point underdog in that game too, and many people were backing the Giants.

We should have expected it after our joint practices and ps game with Detroit showed how the Lions were preparing far more intensely and purposefully than the Giants.

If DJ is the 2024 SB MVP, those top 10 numbers will be 'forgiven.'

The pearl-clutching over a Rookie of the Year bet between Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabers is much ado about nothing

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Slayton "should" be back
Last post by B1GBLUE - Today at 12:33:23 PM
Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on May 07, 2024, 04:35:06 PMHence the reason I said, "percentage-wise". That list of the top 25 players for dropped passes is "percentage", and includes plenty of names that are considered stars of the game. Slayton has a better percentage average of caught passes. His low number of drops is not due to few passes, but ratjer that he catches more balls than average receivers..."percentage-wise"

But I couldn't agree more that "perception is reality" and perception always trumps facts and data...and Slayton has been called a pass dropping WR, so every drop screams to fans that the player is worthless, damn the facts. And you are also right that Slayton is not targeted as often as the stars of the game. And he will be targeted less now that we actually have a WR room to share the passes...and Nabers will get the bulk of them. Hopefully, some talking head doesn't call him a "pass dropper" or it will follow him throughout his career, even when he has a higher percentage of caught passes than other studs of the game

he's just gotta make one or two memorable great catches and the moniker will fall off. i believe he will do so.

Yes for a number 6 pick getting 40 mil per and Mahomes had a down year stats wise.
