Quote from: Jclayton92 on April 25, 2024, 04:09:45 PMI don't know anyone that will be upset as a result of the draft night. Regardless well get a tier 1 prospect.I'd be disappointed if we don't get one of the QBs. However, not mad.
I don't know 1 person that wants a qb that will be mad at the Giants taking a wr and surviving 1 more season. Even though most want a fresh start, they are realistic.
Likewise the fan base that want a wr, I don't see them being upset if schoen/daboll decide to get their guy as most realize what we have now is not ok.
Quote from: TONKA56 on April 25, 2024, 10:36:31 AMI can only imagine the wailing and gnashing of teeth if JJ is the pick and Maye is also available. Not from me. I've been vocal about JJ as my guy since day one also. However, I wouldn't be disappointed with Maye either. I think we HAVE to get one of the top 4 QBs.
Quote from: MightyGiants on April 24, 2024, 03:50:22 PMTwo of my jobs literally risked people dying if I screwed up. So when I hear about the "high pressure" entertainment industry jobs...Agreed. I walk that line everyday. Sports is a privilege.
Quote from: Uncle Mickey on April 24, 2024, 04:56:20 PMHi all!Great first post.
Uncle Mickey here but you can just call me Mickey.
Glad to be part of the team. Stumbled upon this joint kind of on an Giants search on the internet.
Seem to be some pretty knowledgeable folks here.
I think Maye is right up with the best talent in this draft.
He's got that 'arm arrogance' Coach Daboll would look for.
He's got enough moxy for the ball coach but not too much for Mara.
He's big, white and his throws can cut through the unforgiving meadowland winds playoff time in January.
Ultimately, checks a bunch of boxes for what Mara and Daboll want.
I'd be willing to pay a steep price because Daniel Jones just seems like 'damaged goods' at this point.
When QB becomes your need that need takes precedence over everything.
Quote from: MightyGiants on April 22, 2024, 12:10:38 PMWhile Tony was out of left field (although the trade was a big part of it), I think JPP may have been one of the most surprising. There were so many guys I thought the Giants would take, like Center Pouncy. I wasn't home when I heard the pick, but I remember my reaction when I heard it- "the drafted the guy who does back flips?!?!"Whenever I think of JPP, I think of him tipping that kick in Dallas in the playoff run of 2011.
Quote from: Philosophers on April 13, 2024, 08:30:33 AMIf the Giants went WR in round 1 and then drafted Troy Benson round 2 that would be pretty exciting.Yeah, if the WR can hand if off or throw it to himself or Benson Could play QB to a very high level.
Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on March 28, 2024, 12:41:31 PMIdeal hypothetical position:Except the Giants when they're stuck with no QB.... STILL.
JJ is still on the board and Minnesota desperately wants him. They trade both their first rounders and a 4th to the Giants to move up to 6th. If one of the WRs/TE(Bowers) is still on the board, Giants trade their new no.11 pick and a 3rd (or some kind of combinations of picks) to move back up to get him
Giants still have two first rd picks and everybody's happy
Quote from: uconnjack8 on March 15, 2024, 12:09:45 AMI feel like #6 pick is going to be WR. The offense needs a big boost and a true #1 WR does that.Hopefully they're so good they'll be able to throw it and then run and catch.
Quote from: EliWasrobbed on March 12, 2024, 08:33:46 PMI've seen Joe talk. He's a master at spin and deflecting blame. If he cared about durability we would have never signed Jones not to mention giving him that awful injury clause that makes it impossible to play him without confidence in his game long term. You're on almost every thread in the last couple of days posting the same thing.
Quote from: uconnjack8 on March 11, 2024, 09:25:16 PMYup Barkley, the best offensive player on the team for the last half decade was the biggest mistake. For value per position in the draft against the needs we had at the time, it absolutely was.
It wasn't taking Daniel Jones over Josh Allen (DE and others) or not drafting Micah Parson or even taking Kadarius Toney over Christian Darrisaw....DeAndre Baker was a much better pick too..it was Barkley that was the worst.
