To state that humans have never learned is to dismiss those who have given their hearts, their efforts and, sometimes, their lives, in the name of peace. I understand your global statement, and the frustration behind it, but we should never quelch the indomitable spirit of those who tried, even at the expense of their own lives, to further the cause for peace.
For I have known many who are honored on this day who gave of themselves not to answer the call of a draft card, but to answer the burning passion within them to make a difference in this world. For it this day we mourn their loss, but rejoice their cause, and their legacy will live on because they made a difference.
Peace!

Quote from: Jclayton92 on May 27, 2024, 03:39:07 PMThey already benched Devito last year for Taylor so it's a non-issue.
Quote from: sxdxca38 on May 27, 2024, 12:25:25 PMOnce again I'm sure you're a nice person in real life, but let's think about this.
The reason why Tom Brady was able to start at QB was because Drew Bledsoe got injured. If Bledsoe never got injured, Brady never wpuld have played.
If BB had started a 6th rd pick in Brady over Bledsoe in 2001 he would have been fired.
The same applies to Devito.
If Daboll and Schoen bench DJ for Devito, an undrafted player, and have him start the season and he fails it would be a fireable offense, and there is no way Daboll and Schoen would do that.
Quote from: MightyGiants on May 27, 2024, 09:42:43 AMNo one, not ever Jones and the Giants can say how Jones will play (between recovery from the ACL and on-field inconsistencies). So how exactly did you and the NFL network determine where Jones is ranked???
Quote from: DaveBrown74 on May 26, 2024, 05:49:38 AMIf that happens, it won't matter unless he has meaningful success elsewhere.
Keep in mind that a year ago the Giants were the only team in the NFL that was interested in him.
Quote from: MightyGiants on May 24, 2024, 07:10:13 AMI really don't see DeVito's comments as news. Despite the coaching rhetoric about draft status being meaningless, when a team spends valuable draft capital on a player, it gives that player more stature. It's likely been that way since the NFL instituted the draft.

Quote from: Ed Vette on May 26, 2024, 08:43:32 AMThis is what he does. Feel honored he even took the time. You bring this xxxx upon yourself with outrageous statements as the preponderance of fact. You do however, provoke discussion, even if it is to expose the lunacy. I have seen marked improvement and there is some wisdom tucked in there. So to that point keep up the good work. If you didn't exist, Rich would have to invent you.
Just teasing you, man. 🥸
Taken in good spirit
My critiques to the contrary Ed Im feeling good about this season.
Reasons-
- Schoen has had the time to wash many of the laggards out of the team and brought in talent
- Best 3 QBs we have had on the roster as a group since the Phil Simms days- real competition
- the team is young but more experienced than the past few years
- The RB position is open and I expect good rotation and thus less predictable than 50% of the play to Barkley
- I expect Daboll to take more play calling control this season as his axe is on the line
- less brutal schedule than last year
- we cracked the Philly code last year and should do the same this with the Boys
- Best set of WRs and TEs since maybe ever
Caveat- We need huge upgrade in Special Teams- Have no idea what's going on there
Finally, We are due....time to at least reclaim the NFC East Crown
Go BLUE!!
Quote from: Painter on May 25, 2024, 01:23:58 PMIt would seem that there really is no need nor good reason for you continue to post here, wouldn't you say? This place is fast becoming little more than wet rag city.
Cheers! or maybe not.
Quote from: sxdxca38 on May 23, 2024, 06:37:08 PMHi,
Im sure you're a nice person and I mean you no harm by this, but you just predicted that Devito will be the next Tom Brady.
One of, if not the greatest QB of all time, are you sure you want to stand by this prediction?
