As one who fought in what is now often referred to as the "forgotten war", I can only feel grief and disgust this day at the reality that so many could still be willing to vote for someone who has referred to those who have served and suffered as "fools" and "suckers", has suggested that an amputee in a parade is "not a good look" and that you can't be a hero if you are captured by the enemy.

As General Kelly put it, God help us. I think that too is worth remembering.

With only scant basis for a guess, I'd have to say Malik Nabers.

Cheers!

It would seem that there really is no need nor good reason for you continue to post here, wouldn't you say? This place is fast becoming little more than wet rag city.

Cheers! or maybe not.

If those comps were to mean something, we'd better hope that Jones stays healthy as Cutler, Gabbert, and Lock have managed to produce just 2 winning seasons over a combined 28 years in the League. Not exactly a high bar for DJ who is already half way there.  ;)

Cheers!

Best described as the paralysis of over analysis which all too often leads to a delusion conclusion.  :hit:

Having already reversed ourselves after-the-fact so as to enable us to second-guess the wisdom in investing the 7th overall pick in an attempt to fill what has been a glaring need at Right Tackle, have we now concluded that it's a waste of time and effort to do so any further where Evan Neal is concerned?

On the other hand, in his 3 years at Alabama, where he was every bit an All-American, he did start 13 games at Left Guard, 12 at Right Tackle, and 15 at Left Tackle. That may speak to his versatility or, perhaps, it just left him confused. In any case, he may have some value somewhere. So, assuming he's fully recovered from his injury-shortened last season, why not give him another shot at the position for which he was drafted? That will still leave time to try him elsewhere on the Oline before they decide to cut him. N'est-ce pas?  Hmm?

Quote from: BluesCruz on May 23, 2024, 04:21:16 PMHe did very well at Syracuse and Illinois.....big time programs
By contrast Jones was a big time loser at small time Duke

Where are we here, in a hall of mirrors?  DeVito is better than the robotic Jones by a country mile

The delta is that Jones is now Mara's very expensive adopted sun

It seems the Giants will let DeVito float and lost to waivers....he will wind up in NE as the next Tom Brady   My prediction

Jones has been touched by the hand of Mara.

You'd better have a lie down, son...or would you prefer sun where you already may have spent too much time?

Quote from: GloryDays on May 22, 2024, 07:54:48 PMTo me, what he is saying is: If I had better exposure, better conference, I would have probably been drafted in the third round and then, when I performed as I did as a backup, I would have got more respect than I am getting now, just because I was undrafted.

I think you're right, it is what he is mumbling about. Even so, it is still no more than an exercise in woulda, coulda, shoulda in which he doesn't like the handwriting even though it's much the same as it was at this time, last year. Perhaps, he feel that he and not Drew should  be the "Lock" at QB2 :banghead:

I'd hardly think of Ross as a Giants castoff as he was the Bengals 9th overall pick in 2017 and played- when not injured- for them through 2020 before they realized it that they would be spending good money after bad, and so let Gettleman play the fool. That turned out to be for just one year as Ross decided to sit out the next two.

So how did that all happen, we might wonder? I guess if you follow a strong Junior season with a record 4.22-second 40-yard dash in the "Underwear Olympics", folks will be ready to discount the torn ACL and Labrum suffered while at UW which as we now know were a portent to foot, knee, and shoulder injuries as a pro. And in a touch of irony, he actually strained his calves on his record-breaking Combine run.

Okay, so the Eagles sign him after a 2-year hiatus- Pourquoi? Para qué? Hmm! Could be that 4.22/40, ya think? Those giving it thought, seem to imagine that Siriani & Co. see him as all the more attractive now as a kickoff and punt returner given the new special teams rules changes. That is, of course, if he can stay heathy.

Ranking shmaking! The only purpose behind the origin of this thread is to hate on Daniel Jones which is as petty as it is obvious. It makes no difference as to where and by whom he is rated when we all know that his future and that of others involved will depend on where he rates at the end of the season by Giants Ownership and Management. Period. Full Stop!

Root against him if you believe that the team will be so much better without him, but it's not a matter of enlightenment as much as that of a mean spirit.

Being a nice guy or well-liked rarely is a portent of Coaching success, one way or another, nor would it be wise to project anything in regard to Fangio and the Eagles. We do know, however that over the course of 23 years and 7 teams, he has earned the reputation of being above-average in accomplishment. I see no reason to expect otherwise with the Eagles.

Moreover, as a Giants fan, I am much more interested in seeing Shane Bowen and staff bring with them a major improvement in personnel and performance in comparison to the debacle that was Don Martindale's Defense, last year.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on May 21, 2024, 11:38:37 AMThen I guess all the beat writers and guys covering the Giants have an agenda then because they've all been discussing this very question.

Having a vacuous biased agenda hardly depends on beat writer and other media discussions, now does it?

Big Blue Huddle / Re: OTA'a start today

First and foremost, we all should want to see evidence of Daniel Jones's return to health and best form. Why that should be is too obvious as to require discussion, much less debate. So far, based on his limited but very favorable OTA performance, most of us are encouraged.

No good reason to think not except for those with a still vacuous agenda.

I hope he gets stuffed at the line of scrimmage for the rest of his touches by the hand of God career.

I take your point, but we ought not to attribute to Barkley "the hand of God" and "Gold Jacket" bloviations which were strictly those of one Dave Gettleman. As for Barkley's, "Once a Giant... I think he hoped it would be so. It just wasn't a hope shared by Schoen/Daboll Co. In any case, he's an Eagle now, no more, no less,
