The Front Porch / People and there Cell Phones.
April 26, 2022, 04:56:58 PM
Is it just me? I have been encountering more and more people in public on there phone with the speaker on. Was in the hospital cafeteria watching a movie with my headphones on. and a lady sits right next to me eating and talking to someone must have been video chatting. I could hear her and whoever she was talking to while I had my headphones on trying just to have a break while at work. This seems to be happening more and more. In Los Angeles its common to hear people and the person they are speaking to and grocery stores...maybe I am an ass....but it gets on my nerves.

No surprise here. Just hearing it said out loud is a kick in the gut.

The omicron coronavirus variant will infect

Here we go. Try to be respectful. Just read the damn thing. Keep your political stuff to yourself. I have heard it all (mostly from people who don't work in the medical field) I do. I work for a hospital and have been around/taken care of many Covid patients.

I find this interesting.

Omicron Variant Might Help Defend Against Delta, Lab Study Suggests

People who have recovered from an infection with the new omicron coronavirus variant may be able to fend off later infections from the delta variant, according to a new laboratory study carried out by South African scientists.

If further experiments confirm these findings, they could suggest a less dire future for the pandemic. In the short term, omicron is expected to create a surge of cases that will put a massive strain on economies and health care systems around the world. But in the longer term, the new research suggests that an omicron-dominated world might experience fewer hospitalizations and deaths than one in which delta continues to rage

BBH Archive / NFT: super immunity from COVID-19

Very interesting articles. Full vaccination against COVID-19 and a breakthrough infection builds 'super immunity,' study finds. ...

COVID-19 death rates across South Africa also have fallen precipitously despite the Omicron wave. If there is no massive surge in hospitalizations or deaths in the next two to three weeks, that

Really cool stuff here. Never knew that some of the recipes that Mom and Grandma used to cook had this kind of history.  Sadly most people ( including myself) don't know how to cook a lot of stuff here. Looking at the picture of the potato pancakes made me wish I had a plate of them right now.

Hard Times, Great Recipes
During the Depression, scarce resources and frugal mindsets forced home cooks to get creative during the holidays, but the recipes they devised out of necessity deserve a second look in times of plenty. These Thanksgiving recipes from the 1930s stood the test of time as reminders of an America that no longer exists, though some call for ingredients that might seem unfamiliar today and others require more work than modern cooks are used to putting in. All, however, were created for special feasts in a time food was a precious commodity.

Scary stuff. Its long been said a war between Russia, China and USA would never happen because neither side would truly win. Destruction across the world would be devastating for the " victor"  and I tend to agree. War in a tradition sense is long gone to the super powers of the planet...cyberwarfare is the way wars between the big dogs is happening now and I believe will only get worse. A country could bring another country down on its knees by killing the power grid of another nation....depending on the attack...it could set a country back to the early 1900's. Cut the power supply and  sit back and watch your enemy fight itself. Covid -19 turned us into hording and interrupted our supply chain and to be honest....the supply chain still isn't full recovered.

Would be great to have a naval radar expert provide commentary and describe exactly what we are looking at.
