My wife and I lived in Northern CT for the first eight years of our marriage. She was a die-hard Red Sox fan who was from Springfield, Mass and I went along for the ride.
A couple of times a year we'd take a half-day off on a Friday and drive up to Boston, checking in at the old Fenway Commonwealth hotel, about three blocks from Fenway.
After dinner, we'd head over to Fenway, buying tix for the Friday night, Saturday and Sunday afternoon games. If the Saturday game was at night, we'd tour Boston during the day and then hit the game.
Sunday. we'd have breakfast at the hotel and then check out, leaving our car in their underground parking garage, returning after the game for a leisurely drive back home.
Great ballpark and great memories.
that was a long time, proves have a good team and a fine ballpark they will come.
