Run defense and OL play

In one of the threads last week, I expressed my concern about the run defense, well after witnessing them going against the best OL in the league it was not unfounded. Eagles ran for over 250 yds. Even last week against the Commanders they could not stop the run. On the other side of the ball, Against the Eagles, Barkley had 28 yds on 9 carries and its good bet DJ was their leading rusher. The additions of Joseph and Suh at DTs, can we say didn't hurt them.

Needless to say, they have to get more talent on the OL is a priority either through the draft or FA. I know not having LW hurt them to some degree but its more than that. I don't know the history of Wink's Ds in the past, but it seems it's an Achilles heel. With the idea it gets tougher in the red zone.

I will say this to the cows come home.  If the Giants want to fix their run defense, then draft Mazi Smith from Michigan to play DT alongside Dexter Lawrence.  He's 6'3" 337 pounds and is brilliant at taking on double teams and also good at interior penetration.  He'd rotate in with LW and DL and ultimately replace LW.  Currently, he's a 2nd/3rd rounder, but believe he'll light up the Combine to be 1st/2nd rounder.

Its certainly becoming a position of need. i dont think we need to spend a premium pick on it though. 3rd to 5th round run stuffer sounds about right.
