I think this team just doesn't get it. The offense lives and dies through their line.
Just throwing bodies at it doesn't work. Other teams' leftovers is not the way to have a dominant O line.
Just look at the Steelers. Their O line was decent, check their draft!
Evan Neal is a bust, who is the RT we can rely on to stop the pressure on DJ from that edge? Are they really relying on Eluemunor or Cajuste?
Who is behind Schmitz? Even if he improves, who's backing him up, Morrissey?
This to me is weird.. I hope I am wrong, but I doubt it. They are ignoring to address the line effectively, like they did last year too.

I have said before in different posts that having the 6th pick, we should capitalize on the opportunity to sell that spot and gain more potential starters to upgrade our weak positions.
My favorite draft would be:

Round 1  (Trading back to the 20s, in one or two moves, to gain a bunch of extra picks, including one in round 2 plus another high pick in next year's draft):
. WR Ladd McConkey, Best route runner who was dominant and hard to cover at the Senior Bowl. I believe he'll be a better pro than the higher rated Receivers

Round 2, A: OL Jackson Powers-Johnson, A dominating Guard who is also a great Center

Round 2, B: DT T'Vondre Sweat, in the mold of our Dexter Lawrence

Round 2, C: DL Darius Robinson, Under-rated and versatile D lineman who can rush the passer from any position

Round 3, TE Ben Sinnott, A very good and tough Receiver who is also a pretty good blocker

Round 4, QB Spencer Rattler, Another prospect who is still under the radar and has the tools and potential

Round 5, A: RB Will Shipley, A tough, slippery and hard runner who can get open and catch balls

Round 5, B: OT Roger Rosengarten, Strong tackle with great feet to mirror the rushers

Round 6, A: WR Luke McCafrey, Big slot target, great bloodlines who has showed noticeable improvement

Round 6, B: DB Kitan Oladapo, hard hitting Safety who flies all over the field. Old school type

I know the team had other issues Thursday night against the niners, bad tackling, missed opportunities, penalties ... but until the middle of the 4th quarter, this team still managed to come as close as one score.

So my question is, can we mainly blame the O line and their inabilities as a group to semi-consistently provide decent time for DJ to throw, and a little better blocking for the running game?
