Can the team grab a guy like Alt after spending a top 7 pick on Neal two years ago (and trying to flip him to the right side)? The Giants have an All-Pro LT in Andrew Thomas.

WR at 6? That tells me they're invested in Jones for at least another year. JJ? Well, that means the team is starting over...again. I can live with either of those picks if they are decisive about the QB position.

QB hell? Yep.

This team needs another pass rusher.

The team needs to get better ply out of Evan Neal and JMS. For Neal, the third year is pivotal for long term planning. JMS? His play should improve as he's no longer a rookie.

So you pick Nabers ot Odunze? I think there's some serious consideration. I mean, look at what Chase did for Burrows when the I-line play was less than a x"excellent.

The team was in a tough spot after that playoff run last year.

Blow it up after one year or hope that the Giants might catch lightning in a bottle down the stretch? For a while , it did look like the Giants might make another playoff push, albeit this time with a combo of DeVito or Tyrod Taylor.

I know people (around here) would've lis Their mind if they dismantled the team at the trade deadline.

Quote from: MightyGiants on February 22, 2024, 03:15:56 PMLet me get this straight

4 years ago, the Giants traded away a third and a fifth-round draft choice to acquire LW

4 years later, the Giants traded away LW for a 2nd round pick and a 5th round (2025) pick

So please explain to me exactly how terrible the original LW trade was.  They received the services of a good DT for 4 years, and they netted the value of 2nd rd pick against a third rd pick for the privilege.

 :-??

The Seahawks overpaying for LW doesn't magically justify the trade (at the time). Did it end up working out? Thankfully, yes. However, the albatross that was his contract didn't help the team out enough to warrant the production (or lack thereof).

Having a two-way TE that can block AND catch at a high level helps. Kelce and Noah Gray fit into this mold.

As for SF: Kittle fits this mold as well. Kyle Juszczyk can line up across the formation.

Patriots: look at Gronk and pre-conviction Hernandez.

Tampa (Brady) - you had Gronk and Cameron Brate. Brate isn't a world beater but was good enough.

While this might not apply to KC, the other teams listed here had WRs that were decent blockers.

Onwenu is interesting.

That article didn't age well.

I don't see anything wrong with what they said. Saying that they need to step up and be leaders is what star players should be doing.

I love Eli but man, is it hard to project.

On one hand, he's a 2x SB MVP. QB of a team that knocked off the undefeated Patriots, and had several good years.

On the other hand, we have the Eli that threw some of the most mind-blowing INTs I've ever seen on any level of football. Those later years of his career were awful (except for that 2016 season).

Ultimately, I think he gets in. The name, the market, the SB MVPs, and the memorable plays. Might become a bit more difficult unless he gets in before Big Ben, Brees, etc become eligible.

What coordinators left the Giants for head coaching gigs since 2000?

John Fox and Spags?

Payton spent years in Dallas before getting the Saints job.

I can't remember anything of the sort in the front office.

Don't sleep on Rashee Rice. He's been money the second half of the season and gave KC that second receiving target. Not only that, but Pacheco is doing yeoman's work this year.

On the other hand: CMC is on his own planet. If Purdy limits the mistakes and gets the balls to his playmakers, I think the Niners win this one.

Thibs and Banks are looking like good picks.

Neal? Well, that's a different discussion.

They've gotta figure something out with the current batch of players. Thomas, JMS, and Neal need to be productive starters.

If Neal doesn't work at RT, push him inside and let him play in the proverbial phone booth. DJ Fluker, Robert Gallery, Ereck Flowers, and many other failed OTs have made a career of it at guard.

What a schmuck. Glad he's gone.

How many more times are you going to draft an offensive lineman in round 1/2?

The team has dumped premium picks into the position in recent years with mixed results.

The team needs JMS and Neal to figure it out. For Neal, that could be at guard if he can't get his act together with the new o-line coach.

Guard? You can fill with current players and/or cheap vets.

QB and WR need upgrades. Another pass rusher would be nice too. At the end of the day, this team needs consistency at QB above all else.
