I had all but the last letter on my second guess. I spent about 15 minutes trying to think of a word with the other 4 letters. I decided to just type in the 4 in different positions to get some visual help and BOOM! There it was 😆

New streak activated  :P

Lucky guess with the fifth letter.

I had all the letters (but none of the positions after the first two guesses.  It took me awhile to think of a word that would fit the letters

I got today's in three, and it certainly wasn't a difficult word, although I felt a bit lucky to get it in three as it could have been three or four possibilities for me. This was one of those ones where with less luck but not necessarily less skill I could have had it in five or even six.

Exactly. I was on the more fortunate end of that stick this AM but feel like I'm more often than not on the less fortunate end of it. Clearly one cannot beat himself up over this sort of outcome.

Got it in 4, but should have had it in 3...had the last 4 letters in green  and chose the wrong first letter :(

I know someone who got the first letter only on his first try and then guessed the word correctly in the second try.

On a separate subject, I have been exclusively using SERAI as my starting word for the past week or two (since I posted that article here about starting words) and have moved away from ADIEU. I can't say I have seen an obvious change in my results, although not much time has gone by since the change so it's too early to say. I will say though that I miss having four vowels resolved out of the gates. I feel like if nothing else that often gives you more of a base or "skeleton" of a word than you get by having more consonants, even common ones like S.

Of course, the numbers are what they are, and the numbers say SERAI is much better than ADIEU.

When I first started doing Wordle, I'd use as many vowels as I could, but I gave that up a long time ago. It's the consonants that are important because if you get a couple of them right, the vowels just seem to fall into place. So I take the first word that comes to mind and I prefer it to have S,T,R,C,H,N in them. Ex. "STRAP", "CHORE", "TRICK", "CRUST", "STING", etc. When my mind hasn't woken up, I often start with "GIANT". I prefer to use as few vowels as possible because they will fit in soon enough given there's only 5 of them.

Can't wait to hear all the whining when the word of the day is "QUEUE" - that one will break practically everyone's streak LOL
