Really good breakdown. Next level IMO.

Daniel Jones highlights - The New York Giants are 6-1, and no one believes Brian Daboll's team is for real... except for us. Josh McCown and Josh Norris dive into the details of Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley and the awesome playcalls Mike Kafka is nailing on a weekly basis.

Thanks BE ,Ill watch when Im out of work. Are they asserting that Giants are using the opposing teams film study against them by setting stuff up that looks like what theyve seen on film (by formation/motion etc) and then doing something completely different?

Part of the way through and so far this is one of the better youtube analysis of our scheme with a former NFL QB.

BrownE: Thanks for posting. Watched it all at 1.25x speed (don't go faster; too much info, too densely packed).

IMO there is much much more in this video than could fit in the title of the thread.... it's very technical and detailed (presented by a former NFL QB who is now a football coach) but it IMO explains a lot more than how the plays are designed and why they work.

It tells us: (a) why NFL pays so much money for good coaches; (b) why only certain players can play on the 2022 Giants; (c) why the Giants are winning; (d) how the Giants are winning; and (e) why they are likely to KEEP ON winning.

Brief answers to the above issues: (a) because they are very smart guys who know football in a depth of detail that is quite rare; (b) because most players are not smart enough to learn everything they need to learn AND to recall and perform under pressure what they've learned; (c) because they've out-smarted the opponents and made life very complicated for players who don't really understand the game; (d) by doing two things in particular: (1) designing plays that all look the same to the defense and (2) running them out of a virtually endless variety of formations; (e) because most defenses don't have the time to learn in one week what the Giants are doing and/or because what the Giants are doing is quite rare in the NFL... maybe three or four other teams do even half of it (Eagles may be an exception) so defenses seldom see an offense like this.

Bob

PS. Anyone "down in the dumps" about the Giants (including some of our members LOL) and anyone who thinks the Giants cannot win EVERY REMAINING GAME (in theory) should and must watch this video, IMHO.  At least give it a go... it's not short.
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

As one poster mentioned

highlight how difficult it is for jones to be so efficient with 2-3 receiver routes vs 6 DBs. His post snap reads and throwing to average receivers vs overmatched coverages cannot be understated.

Hes making tight window throws that's all it means.  Would have a higher completion %, more TDs, more yards if he had starting caliber WRs to throw to.

Thanks Elvis, for this great post, they do a great job in explaining the scheme the Giants are employing and has made it possible for the start to this season.

Thanx BE. This also says a lot about DJ, his speedy ability to run and passing accuracy, and why he just might be our man of the future. It exploits DJ's ability to run, not as a hopeful improvisation when protection breaks down, but as an intentional and viable threat that is an integral part of an offense. Attaboys all around--OL, skill players, positionn coaches, OC and HC. Excellent, excellent integrated coordination to produce these results coming from the top down and fully comprehended from level to level.

Best 40 minute investment in the 2022 Giants this season. Enlightening!

This was really an excellent detailed look on how a system tailored to his diverse skillset of strengths including the many strengths of his arm talent along with the improving mental part of the game (which is part and parcel with him being in a better system).

You see him going through progressions, you see him manipulating safeties with his eyes and then throwing to another spot, you see him manuevering and sensing pocket pressure better. So many things coming together now that he has somewhat of a better support system along with most importantly a better fitting scheme for his talent. RPOs, read options, playactions all being called more often. Many types of plays called from similar formations. Making the defense overcommit to one thing than doing another. Plays having mutliple options to pressure a defense and DJ usually choosing the best one.

A lot of great stuff packed in those 40 minutes!

See him going through progressions?  Ok

I see a simplified offense that relies upon quick non complicated decisions having to be made.

But is that so wrong?

Isn't a coaches responsibility to get the best out of their players?

Does a QB to be good have to run complex plays and progressions etc to be considered good or can he run a simplified offense and be successful and still be considered good?

Of course you do. Rambo cmon bud you minimize every good thing that DJ has done this year. You refuse to see him in a positive light. Even when he does seomthing great you come up with some reason to still see it in a negtive light somehow.

There have been multiple videos breaking down all 22 showing numerous high level decision making process and process speed. Did you even watch the video above?

Can you even give him the credit hes due even with the disclaimer that he has been excellent these first 7 games and we'll see how it turns out the rest of the way? Or is it going to be this continued 'bite your lip praise' every single time?

Slugs this is true too what you say that is. But in this case he is ALSO making complex, multi faceted decisions on numerous types of playcalls. And the process speed is there too.
