Neal has missed 14 games his first two seasons, can that explain some of the poor performance?
#2
Nice breakdowns, if....if we can get better pass protection...well....no more excuses for our QBs. This was a great pick for whoever is under center after 2024

This CHANGES Everything For The New York Giants.. | Malik Nabers

I agree with Bobby, Joes drafts are questionable as of now......

Quote from: sxdxca38 on May 02, 2024, 07:46:00 PMI agree with that, and if Neal begins to struggle, I think you can switch Eluemunor and Neals positions on the line.

Agreed, but I would move Neal to LG. Seems like he played better on the left side in college, so being on the left side next to a Pro bowl Left Tackle could be the solution?

As of now this is the way I see it. Of course training camp can change this line up

LT Andrew Thomas

LG  Jon Runyon

C  John Michael Schmitz

RG Jermaine Eluemunor

RT Evan Neal

Before anyone here post " the draft is already done" I just want an opinion on what you think. Both men are there at 6...who would you have preferred?

I have seen several reports that Joe Schoen # 1 pick in the draft was Joe Alt. It is said he was sending signals around the league that a QB was in play for the Giants. If a team that wanted a QB would have traded up with a team in the top 5, that in turn would help out chances of Alt slipping to pick 6. Smart way of thinking IMO.

As we all know, no trades were done. I myself didn't se the Chargers taking Alt at 5

For me. I like the Nabers pick. And if I was choosing at 6 I would have taken Nabers at 6 too.

Some might say this was a deep WR draft class and while true, after the top 3 WRs in this draft, the talent wasn't the same. Sure you might get a stud in round 2, Nabers talent cannot be denied. I have seen some that felt Nabers was a better WR than Harrison Jr and regardless of who you thought was better, just the fact they were neck and neck in some conversations speaks volumes about his God given talent.

This draft was also fairly deep as it pertains to the offensive line too. I am in the camp of " it's not easy switching from Left Tackle to Right Tackle". Joe Alt is a stud, but he is a stud at Left Tackle. To assume he would transition to Right tackle with ease is not a given.

For me I would prefer to draft a kid that for the most part played Soley at Right Tackle for the majority of his time in college.

I think Joe got it right, but it makes me wonder...what would he have done in both players were there at 6

Quote from: EDjohnst1981 on May 02, 2024, 01:10:33 PMIf Tommy is the long term answer, we are asking the wrong question.

Remember there was no tape on Cutlets and now there is some and every team that is scheduled to play us will be breaking it down. The sophomore slump is real. He's a UDFA. If anything, he's already far exceeded expectations. Enjoy the ride but no, he is not the QB of the future. He will soon be 26 years old. If we can get a young cheap QB2 next year will. I can see Lock being the starter in 2025, until our rookie QB is ready to start. Ewers or Beck or whomever it will be. Cutlets will be remembered for the Italian memes; he gave us some fun games in a season that has been abysmal. After 2024 the Giants will turn the page

Quote from: BluesCruz on May 02, 2024, 01:44:24 PMLOL you didn't expect him to be on the roster this year....dont deny it
Schoen went out of his way to include DeVito in his reasoning to not draft a QB

Lets see where the Chips fall....Jones will be on a short leash.  Lock is no "lock"to replace him

That leaves the Jersey hero

What else is he supposed to say? This draft happened the way it had to happen. Prior to the draft we had nothing on offense that scared defensive coaches around the league. We add players to our roster to build our team for the future. Nabers will command attention and that will hopefully equal to other players getting open. We addressed the O-line in FA and UDFA and got a new O-line coach. These issues of bringing in talent and trying to fix the O-line was priority. Jones and Cutlets are already paid for 2024 season. Joe knows this. Unless something drastically changes this upcoming year.....then good bye Jones and Culets. They are just bodies filling a position as of now

Cautiously Optimistic. I expect us to win 4 games this upcoming season. My hope is that we are competitive during our loses and our O-line makes a huge leap.

I don't see it. DeVito was only the full-time starter in three of his five collegiate seasons. Add to the fact he will be 26 years old in August. I don't expect him to be on the roster after this season. I wish we had gotten a QB in the latter rounds, but then again, we only had 6 picks. I will be keeping my eyes on Carsen Beck and Quinn Ewers this upcoming college season

Quote from: MightyGiants on May 02, 2024, 01:00:43 PMadd in the kicker from Rutgers and that's about it.  The Giants UDRFA class had only 9 slots.  Even before Schoen and Daboll, the Giants didn't seem to be into big UDRFA classes.

Why do some teams get tons of picks? Example KC ?

Thanks London, I feel better and defiantly more educated.....a poster pointed out this site as well. Tons of information (lots of it over my head), but still cool to look at.

Adding North Dakota State OT Jake Kubas: $270K guaranteed. That's the richest guarantee I've seen aside from Colorado State CB Chig Anusiem, who the Giants were interested in but he fetched $350K guaranteed from Washington.

A practice squad salary for the full season is $225K. The Giants guaranteed Kubas $240K in salary plus a $30K signing bonus. Strong indication that they expect him to at least land on their P-squad (although with offsets, they'd only have $45K in dead money if they cut him and he signs with another team's PS).

Rich, this is it?

Missouri OL Marcellus Johnson (source)
Wyoming WR Ayir Asante (source)
UConn WR Geordon Porter
Minnesota WR Chris Autman-Bell
Georgia Southern TE Jay McAfee
North Carolina T William Barnes
Oregon IDL Casey Rogers
LSU EDGE Ovie Oghoufo
UCLA CB Alex Johnson

Bill mentioned this yesterday on the main forum.  From what I understand, this is sort of TV piracy for dummies.  The Superbox is essentially an overpriced android device that comes preloaded with what they call an unverified streaming service (a nice name, for they don't know if the programs are properly licensed).

The only real risk would be if the company gets sued and goes out of business (plus the sellers of the product face some risk, so they tend to be on the sleazy side).

You can actually download similar software to your computer or, say, a firestick that would do the same thing.

You can find all you need to know about this here:

https://troypoint.com/what-is-kodi/

https://www.firesticktricks.com/how-to-use-kodi.html

That website also discusses the Superbox, they are not fans

Thanks Rich. It seems like a lot of work to me. Perhaps I am too behind the times.

Big Blue Huddle / Rule 51 ? Are we in trouble?
May 01, 2024, 09:36:20 PM
I am confused about "The Rule of 51″

"The Rule of 51″
The NFL's Rule of 51 says that during the offseason, only the 51 most expensive contracts count against the team's salary cap, staying in effect until the start of the regular season. Once the regular season begins, all 53 players on the roster will count towards the salary cap, plus those on IR, Pup, and the practice squad.

https://en.as.com/nfl/2024-nfl-free-agency-the-salary-cap-explained-n/#:~:text=The%20NFL%27s%20Rule%20of%2051,start%20of%20the%20regular%20season.

According to the video, starts about the 5 minute mark, but the whole video is interesting. Basically money wise we are screwed. 17 players dead cap and if rule 51 expired we will be 14 - 18 million short? Is this guy correct?
