Quote from: coggs on Today at 08:35:14 AMWhen it is 2-2, I always feel like game 5 is a 2-for-1 deal.  I am sure at some time today, someone will post on twitter the % of series that end in 6 when it is 2-2 after 4.  Going tonight.  Pumped.  They need to come out strong as I fear the MSG crowd will turn on them quickly.

Tonight is huge, no question. Is it the end-all if they lose? It might feel that way. But the legend in the ESPN studio will be there to remind you that his team, 30 years ago, got shellacked by the Devils in Game Five at the Garden and we all know what happened in Jersey that's now part of Rangers' lore.

So, it's not about getting ahead of ourselves now. Keep the emotions and focus for tonight only. The Rangers have to get themselves back on track through certain players needing to break through their funk and make an impact. If they can do that, and stand strong at the end of the game when Florida is going kamikaze on them, they'll be all right.

Forget the dominance narratives. At the end of the day, three games have gone into overtime and they've won two of them. They're still very much in this thing and now they have to demonstrate that resilience that's been their key trait all season.

It's a three-game series with up to two at the Garden, with an opportunity to go to the Stanley Cup Finals! This is it! None of us here, back on opening day, if we knew this would be where the Rangers would end up, would complain or have an issue with. Just remember how the season started with the rotten taste of that Devils' series still fresh in everyone's mouth. That's long past now.

Three-game series for the right to play for the Holy Grail. This is amazing and this series, in my opinion, is far from over and will keep us on edge to its very end.

Fingers crossed for the Blueshirts and LGR!

Peace!

Quote from: WheresDayne on Today at 09:42:20 AMWho are these "Pro Football Docs"?  Do they include Ronnie Barnes?  I won't hold my breath.

It's a website/service founded by "the football doc," the former physician of the Chargers.   They do medical assessments on players with an eye toward servicing gamblers and fantasy football players (I think they do other sports as well).   I consider it a qualified opinion (where teams tend to be more tight-lipped) but with the limitation that they don't have access to the player's medical records or test results.

Thanks for sharing this, Rich @MightyGiants . At least fan safety is one element of the organization they get right and that does count for something.

If the Giants ever turn it around, to your point, the fanbase may make it a safer environment. But I'll leave that assessment for the ticket holders who actually show up and can provide their experiences. But, still, your point is well taken.

Peace!

The only one that counts is wins vs losses

Also we seem to be wearing out Jaime Gillian's right leg

Lots of 3 and outs.  I'd love to see punt vs punt and time of possession stats for the jones years

It seemed Devito and Taylor moved the same team better

I don't think there is a lot of trade demand for Jones.  Whereas Taylor and DeVito did/will have no shortage of takers

Hopefully this is the make or break jones year

If he fails again there has to be a change
Cognitive bias is for losers. Put Eli Manning in the same situation that Jones has had to face from that age in his first 60 games and he might very well fair just as worse. When the Oline was bad for Eli in 2013 he struggled until Gilbride changed the Offense. That was after 9 years of experience. As for Championships, it remains to be seen with DJ.

Tomayto, tomahto.

Pros and cons to every situation. There are many different facets of a game plan and plays to get right. If the players continue to screw up one facet, why would you stay on that same thing, wasting valuable time to get one little aspect right when there's so much more to learn and cover?

The flip side is, that one aspect could be the key to winning and losing. It's all situational and it's up to the coaches to proceed as they see fit. It's up to the players to execute.

Ask Joe Judge how them laps worked out.

Lions being last doesn't surprise me.  First time I visited Detroit, we were just driving around downtown.  Near the Lions and and Tigers stadiums there were signs that read, "The Detroit Tigers and Lions do not recommend parking beyond this point."

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on May 29, 2024, 07:58:04 PMThe Rangers did what they needed to do, which was win one of two in Florida. Two out of two would have been amazing, but it would have been a luxury. They needed one, and they got one.

Now, they need to win game five at home.

Yes, they NEED to win this game. Lose tomorrow and the series is very probably over.

I don't think they will lose tomorrow though. I think they'll step up.

It may be ugly as sin, it may be fan unfriendly, but at least it's safe.

Oddly enough, it's safer when the Jets play.   I suspect that may be because the Giants season ticket holders were selling their tickets because of how bad the team was last season
