FWIW, Ball ran a 4.49 and a 4.51 at his pro day workout which is much more consistent with his previous 40 times than his number from the combine.

Obama is not the first president to raise the question of whether or not he is a genuine US citizen.
Obama didn't raise the question, the idiot birthers did.  Its obvious to me that facts didn't matter, it was all simply a feeble attempt at political gain. Trump, on the other hand, has his own motives for continuing this nonsense.

Interestingly enough the first person to question is the President was a natural born citizen was a Clinton operative who filed a lawsuit in Philadelphia during the Democratic primaries. I get a good laugh when I hear the various talking heads claiming that the whole issue was started by the GOP. For the record I've never bought into that nonsense but in some regards the President made it an issue by not releasing his long form birth certificate until three years later.

You guys realize that Lincoln was, for all intents and purposes, a tyrant. He saved the union and freed the slaves but he also stripped American citizens of their right to Habeus Corpus which allowed him to hold critics of his administration without due process. He also stripped some American citizens of their right to a jury trial and replaced it with military tribunals. Often those tribunals were so stacked in the governments favor that the defendant had no chance of being exonerated. Hundreds of citizens were sent to their deaths at the hands of those tribunals.

Lincoln was a complex man, both good and bad, but there is no way that a man who shredded the bill of rights and repudiated the ideas espoused in the Declaration of Independence should go down as our greatest President. I'd take Jefferson, Washington, Adams, Teddy Rex, Truman and Reagan before I'd even begin to consider where to place Lincoln.

Another example of other teams giving the Yankees their prized possessions for under market value.  I have no sympathy for these teams when they complain about the Yankees.

I couldn't disagree more. IMHO Yankees prospects are almost always grossly overrated. Montero is a big bat, that's it. He can't field the position at catcher and he's never played first base. Replacing Montero's bat isn't an issue. One large check to Prince Fielder and they've already upgraded from Montero. We got a 22 year old top of the rotation stud in return. You very rarely see a 22 year old future number one starter available. It just doesn't happen. You're giving up a one dimensional player for a kid who will probably be your second starter behind CC. Big win for the Yankees IMHO especially considering that their true crown jewel in the minors is 19 year old C Gary Sanchez, a kid who can hit and can actually field the position.

He didn't play last year because he decided that the rules didn't apply to him. I don't care how talented a player is if that is his approach to life. How may talented headaches do we have to suffer through before people realize that self centered guys aren't worth the heart ache. The fact that he lasted as long as he did is because most teams understand that.

Times sure have changed. When Wellington was here, we never would have even had a guy like this on our draft board. We always took pride in the Giants steering away from problem like this BEFORE they even suit up.

Talent aside, is this where we now are?????????????/

LT (drug abuse), Dave Meggitt (rape), Jerimiah Parker (murdering a child), Christian Peter (rape), Keith Hamilton (drug abuse), David Tyree (drug dealing), Tito Wooten (choking and beating his then girlfriend), et alia. We drafted/signed guys during Wellington's era that make Marvin Austin look like a choir boy.

May be another BPA strategy.  For what it's worth, Gosselin had him ranked 26 on his board.  I know there are character issues, but if that's the case it could be another steal.

At some point you actually have to address your weaknesses otherwise your doomed to suffer from the same failures. I understand liking value but having a well rounded team is more valuable in my opinion than just collecting talent. I am so pissed I want to scream.

Great, our offensive line is old, thin and injury prone and we blow our first two picks on another corner and a DT. Maybe the offensive line ferries will visit us at some damn point. I wouldn't be surprised if we use our third round pick on a rush end as you can never have enough of those guys. :surrender:

MB,

There are scouts that are saying this stuff, after interviewing him

Quote6. TRAVIS BECKUM Wisconsin 6-3 240 4.63 3-4
..........Wonderlic of 16. "People that have interviewed him at the combine, as we did, he didn't knock it out of the park," another scout said. "Kind of struck out. You kind of worried about him a little bit mentally and as a person. He was a little shaky on his off-the-field issues, confidence issues, that kind of thing.

More bull puckey from nameless sources. He has never been arrested, accused of a crime, failed a drug test,  never been in trouble with his teammates, coaches or school administrators and yet some how some nameless turd bag has decided that he has "character issues". The crap that has been written about him is 180 degrees different than what you will hear from the people that have lived with and worked with him for four years. I swear half the crap you hear leading up to the draft is either from another kids agent or from a team hoping a kid falls to them.

I know you are only repeating what you have read elsewhere but knowing people close to the program the idea that Travis Beckum has "issues with character and maturity" is a total joke. I suppose we are in the silly season when the various publications have to say something even if it is flat out wrong regardless of how it impacts a kid.

With 1:48 to go and a chance to drive the field and tie the game against the defending Super Bowl champs and there are a couple thousand empty seats in the lower part of the stands. It's embarrassing.
