Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on Today at 10:23:35 AMYou bring up the great point that it's "team work" that makes the plan work as schemed...not a single individual. Football ain't golf!
Quote from: sxdxca38 on Today at 10:20:38 AMWhat is more important to the QB than the WR is the offensive line.
Go and look up the offensive line rankings Tom Brady and Eli Manning both played with in the prime of their careers.
It is no coincidence that both had elite level line play to give them time to dissect a defense.
Quote from: BluesCruz on Today at 09:41:09 AMBelieve me Sequin did us a HUGE favor by leaving
Im now a huge Sequin fan from afar "One negative yard at a time then a burst in the 3rd Qtr"
He will kill Philly. Not that we would not now dominate them regardless. Their run has ended. Tommy broke the spell
Also I never got the "Face" part. What was he a reincarnate Bronco Nagurski?
He was an average back who was drafted 35 slots too high by a deluded novice GM
If you don't believe he was average check his 4.4 YPC- AVERAGE.... and front loaded with occasional long runs to pad the average...... that and a butterfingers approach to catching short passes......not to mention his blocking or lack thereof
Lets see how his face lights up the LINC
Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on Today at 10:20:48 AMThe current standoff is not the same as last year's standoff with Barkley. Slayton is very underpaid compared to WRs with the same stat, and he's been the Giants' most reliable and productive receiver on the team. With Nabers getting the brunt of defenders dogging him, it should open up Slayton and Hyatt...and maybe a TE
Anyway, a pretty good article: https://gmenhq.com/posts/darius-slayton-provides-positive-update-ny-giants-contract-drama-01hwx0s93mgb?sc=be165671da3b347e2b57f31b3de62ada4335dd4eb041bc409f5188d150192a90

Quote from: MightyGiants on Today at 10:04:57 AMI completely agree. Mara has been adamant that the GM has the final say. There have been zero reports from any insider suggesting that Mara is lying when he says that. To some fans, Mara has become the cartoon villain that every bad or unlucky decision is blamed on.
To be fair, I might be a bit biased because I consider conspiracy theories the bastion of the weak-minded.
