I think for many of us, the 1st game was a slap back to reality.  It would have been one thing to lose,  but to look completely outclassed was a different story.

Not sure anyone has forgotten it, but he did sign Jones to that extension and made a good but expensive trade and sign with Burns.   Further, missing on OL in the draft has caused the team to have to sign OL annually for more than draft picks would cost.

IMO, for a team that has been as poor as the Giants, the cap isn't great right now.

Just a note, that calculation is preliminary.   If, for example, McKinney gets hurt in camp and doesn't play next season, there would be no comp pick awarded (pretty sure aboutbthat).

I think the average is like 14 guys per year get this 5th year option.  So this seems like the draft class is within a normal range for this.   

Wish the Giants had the problem of too many draft picks they wanted to re-sign that would command huge salaries.  Although, somehow, with the worst record in the NFC for the last decade they are still up against cap wise

The Giants record is the reason the teams they play have an easier schedule.
