I don't agree with this line of thinking. I don't think its fair to say "lets take out his best runs and then see how he looks". Behind this makeshift OL of players who should be on practice squads, of course there are going to be a lot of runs where he has no where to go. Half the time he got about one step into the run before contact. I think 128 yards was a huge achievement personally, and he carried the offense

I don't think so, improving isn't a linear thing. Many teams have had a good year, then regressed a little in year 2, before improving a lot again in year 3. Injuries, schedule, continuing to rip up and try to improve the roster, all factor in to this. I think year 3 is the big tell year for a new regime personally.

Its hard to tell who is doing good or bad until things start to settle out. Is Jones not adjusting the protection, is Jones just staring down a receiver, is the OL being put in a good position by Jones but failing, are the WRs not adjusting to the hot reads, etc, etc.

I thought last year Schoen and Daboll was the proper rebuild? Is it over already? Does a rebuild only get 1 season and 5 games?

All this tells me is the team is fracturing internally. The defense probably feels like its being hung out to dry by the lousy offense. You can see it in their actions on the field

Even me who thinks overall he looked better last season has to accept that he is NOT a bust ... not yet at least and actually looks decent

Thibs was double teamed on that TD pass. The offenses know he is one of our few defensive weapons
