Big Blue Huddle / PFF gives the Giants a B+ for ...

NEW YORK GIANTS: B+

New York's best move this offseason was trading for Brian Burns, forming a legit defensive line trio with Kayvon Thibodeaux and Dexter Lawrence.

They lost Xavier McKinney and Saquon Barkley but reunited head coach Brian Daboll with running back Devin Singletary to quell the sting of Barkley's departure. They also added a handful of offensive linemen in a much-needed overhaul.

I was a big fan of the Giants draft, as Malik Nabers, Tyler Nubin and Andru Phillips are impact players. They weren't able to change their quarterback situation, but that wasn't totally in their control.

I dont want Dans to be a teacher.  I want his coaches to be teachers.  I want Dabs to have great organizational skills, strategize brilliantly and lead in a way that the team follows him.

I think it's hard for fans to really know. Maybe those of us who have attended live camp sessions (I have not) and have managed to be within earshot of Daboll or at least observe his body language can have some idea, but the reality is it's difficult for any of us to really know other than what we hear others say, which is only reliable some of the time, as people (especially people who work for him or play for him) tend to only say complimentary things.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: NFT: NY Rangers 2023 - 202...

Rangers basically need to win one of two in Ft Lauderdale. Like everyone else here, I'd love it if they won both, but realistically 1-1 in these next two games should be the primary objective. That would then put them in a position to win at home to go up 3-2 in the series and have two cracks at winning it including, if necessary, a game seven at MSG.

If they win one out of two, I don't really care which one it is, but I would obviously strongly prefer they win today to keep the hopes of taking a commanding 3-1 series lead alive.

One thing I know for sure is we need the Shesty of game two, not game one, in this game. We also need the physicality of game two as well. I think if we have both of those two ingredients, the other stuff will take care of itself.

Taken in good spirit

My critiques to the contrary Ed Im feeling good about this season.

Reasons-

- Schoen has had the time to wash many of the laggards out of the team and brought in talent
- Best 3 QBs we have had on the roster as a group since the Phil Simms days- real competition
- the team is young but more experienced than the past few years
- The RB position is open and I expect good rotation and thus less predictable than 50%     of the play to Barkley
- I expect Daboll to take more play calling control this season as his axe is on the line
- less brutal schedule than last year
- we cracked the Philly code last year and should do the same this with the Boys
- Best set of WRs and TEs since maybe ever

Caveat- We need huge upgrade in Special Teams- Have no idea what's going on there

Finally, We are due....time to at least reclaim the NFC East Crown

Go BLUE!!

I found a good article at the The Athletic (pay wall).   It doesn't sound like teaching is a strength.  Its not a weakness but it wouldn't be among his strengths.  His strengths are relationships with players, creativity, and collaboration.

Quote from: Ed Vette on Today at 08:31:51 AMIt would be coming from players, and other coaches. Good point, Rich. I don't think Josh Allen has given him any credit, has he?

I don't recall Allen talking about Daboll, in terms of his development.  I have only heard him mention his private coach.  Although, admittedly, I don't follow Josh Allen that closely.

Being a Giants fan can elicit frustration of late. I'll chalk it up to that
