I have been an on and off regular at bbwc for awhile, probably going back to 2005, 2006.  Maybe even earlier.  When I say on and off, I would disappear for months at a time.  Probably why I missed this place being formed.  Also never really paid much attention to the board happenings, so probably why I didn't notice a lot of what was going on back then.

Anyways, I am a season ticket holder.  This year 2 of my brothers and I took on 6 tickets from my friend.  He had 14, was looking to get rid of 8.  We took 6, another guy took 2.  I had seats through someone else going back to 2004.   Also love to take road trips to see them play.  Last year went to San Fran in November, then GB in the play-offs and the ultimate trip.  Yup, went to the Super Bowl.  This year going to Cincy, Baltimore, and possibly Atlanta.  Wanted to go back to D*ll*s, but things didn't work out with those whom I was planning on travelling.  Most of the time, I go with my wife, but she is running the NYC Marathon next month, so can't go to D*ll*s the week before.  I played football from the time I was 11 into college, now I ref HS, semi-pro, and mens rough touch.  I freely admit I can be a bit of a football snob.  I try to keep it in check, but sometimes I just can't take it.  I also try to remain even-keeled after both wins and losses.  Anything else you want to know, just ask.

Welcome coggs & bass.    I also remember coggs well from bbwc.  Great to have you over here.   I think you will like it.

As far as Fox taking over the Rivals site I hadn't noticed any big change at bbwc but last week I went to The Ranch to see what the cowpukes fans had to say about their miserable game on Monday night.   I couldn't recognize the site.  It was listed as part of Fox and was no wheres near up to date.   I didn't know any of the posters and the ones that were there just bitched about the site, little or nothing about their team.

I've welcomed you before Coggs, but now that I know you are another fellow NYer and a HS official, consider yourself welcomed again.
I have been umpiring HS baseball in the Queens and Long Island area for almost 40 years. We probably know many of the same people.

Why don't you try and make one of our functions. We are doing a sort of tailgate and watching the Giants/Bengals game at one of our people's homes in November. Why not try and attend. Guaranteed you'll have a great time, just stay away from Jaime (LOL)
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

Missed this when it was posted.  Thanks for the invite (although I am late on that), but I actually went to Cincy for that disaster.  Going to Atlanta this weekend, too and most likely skipping Baltimore.  I umpired out there for a while.  Worked for Blue, so I know a bunch of the old IBUA guys and have worked with guys from Big Apple and North Shore over the years.  Blue sort of merged with AFU and I wasn't into the whole AFU thing.  So, now made the switch to mens softball.  Ump games in SI only.  Should have made the switch a long time ago.  games are about 65-75 minutes, 85 minute time limit.  Best of all, I just have to wear a mask and little soccer shin guards.

Brand new here and sorry I only found this place AFTER the season...

1) Born in NYC, living in Hoboken

2) Been a fan since 1986 (11 years old), 37 yrs old now

3) Work in finance

4) I'm a huge fan of "chalk talk" and love re-watching the games on DVR in order to see if I can pick up anything about the routes or the reads. I wish I had access to the coaches' tape and in another life I'd be coaching football to middle schoolers. Besides that, big baseball fan and NYY season ticket holder and fan of books, movies, music and food. All around passion for talking sports, whether online or at a bar. Happy to be here!
