Messages - Jolly Blue Giant

I hope Okereke takes him under his wing. The tenacity of Okereke's play rubs off on teammates. If he can help Darius get to a the next level, he might be good
#2
I think Theo will be found to be a TE stud who slipped through the cracks

Well...my only disappointment was the lack of pursuing OL help. If C/RG Beaux Limmer (Arkansas) goes undrafted, I want him!
Another player I'd like to get (assuming he goes undrafted) is RB Carson Steele (UCLA)

From the Eagles' "Cheat Sheet"

"Darius Muasau (UCLA) – A four-year college starter, first at Hawaii and then at UCLA, Muasau has played more defensive snaps than any linebacker drafted in the last decade, and the production has followed him despite that high amount of reps. An outstanding blitzer who stacked up sack production, Muasau was a disruptive force downhill for the Bruins and has been a forceful presence on special teams as well throughout his career. It's easy to see the role he can carve out for himself in the league."

Special Teams - I'm beginning to see a pattern

LB Darius Muasau  :-??

Didn't see that one coming. Never even heard of him

Well...there goes my special pick I thought would fit in the Giants well as OG/Swing T...Walter Rouse  :'(

Jets grabbed him with the last pick of the 5th round. He was a sleeper pick I thought the Giants might be interested in. He's a big surprise and a lot of people will know the name "Stiggers" in the future

He's a project with a ton of talent. Hope our coaches can tap into that athleticism. Rare for 5th round picks to become much, so you go for athleticism and try to get the most out of them through coaching. Happened last year when we drafted a name no one ever heard of in Trey Hawkins III

I trust that Schoen, Daboll, and scouts know more than me and know what they are doing. I know that they have wanted to improve STs

Big Blue Huddle / Have you noticed?

Last year, the Schoen introduced the modern war room - nothing on the walls except logo and team name, everyone with a laptop or monitor. I haven't seen any room as decked out as the Giants, but none of them have anything on the wall...unlike last year. Makes me wonder if deciphering the Cowboys' draft wall a couple years ago and seeing he had Thibs and Neal as no's 1 and 2 overall, made everyone rethink their war room

Quote from: brownelvis54 on Today at 03:40:42 PMBecause we have Devin Singletary, Dante Miller, Eric Gray, and Gary Brightwell. a DT like Mekhi Wingo is more needed. Like I said months ago, why not take a chance on Michael Pratt in the latter rounds. He could sit for one year, low risk, perhaps high reward.

Like Ivan Pace Jr. last year, Wingo might not even get drafted because he's considered too small for the defensive line. But like Pace last year (didn't get drafted because of his size, then became 1st team all rookie as LB)

Converted WR. Low miles on legs as RB. Very shifty and will be a great ST player. I like his RAS score. He's an offensive weapon. Not a "Workhorse Back", but more like a poor man's McCaffrey. He's more dangerous taking slant passes or sweeps. Should be a good compliment to the RBs we already have. At least we know he can catch a ball and make something happen

Giants coming up on the clock soon..for me...I'd like DT Mekhi Wingo, OG Beaux Limmer, or OG Christian Mahogany

Quote from: GloryDays on Today at 02:52:09 PMIt comes down to team building philosophy and the ability to assess O line talent.

May be ignoring the line is the wrong word; they certainly have devoted a lot of valuable assets to it, but so far the efforts have had dismal results. Last year they ignored that they made a mistake and Neal is no good.. they ROLLED THE DICE, and they got snake eyes. My question is, are they rolling the dice again?
I brought up Pittsburgh as an example. PFF ranked their O line as the # 12 in the league.
Here is their picks through 4 rounds:

Round 1: No. 20-Troy Fautanu, G, Washington
Round 2: No. 51- Zach Frazier, C, West Virginia
Round 3: No. 84-Roman Wilson, WR, Michigan
Round 3: No. 98 (Compensatory - from PHI)-Payton Wilson, LB, North Carolina State
Round 4: No. 119-Mason McCormick, G, South Dakota State

Are they stupid?!

Probably not. They plan on having another Iron Curtain for the next decade. Picking up Payton Wilson will be an exciting player to watch. They are going to fall in love with him
#14
Eagles just got Ainias Smith, and they are going to love him. WR like Wan'Dale, STs ace, but also a RB and a dynamic pk/r that reminds me of Dave Meggett - without the legal issues

Half the best OL players in the NFL were drafted (or undrafted altogether) on the third day

Some very good ones left...my favorite, Walter Rouse (OT/OG Penn St.). 6'5"/324...Smart, was going to become a surgeon before focusing on football. Best fit inside, but played a lot of tackle and could be swing tackle

Beaux Limmer (6'5"/310) is still on the board. He's played all the spots on the inside, but has been Arkansas' center the last year, taking over the spot when Ricky Stromberg was drafted last year
