It's funny, I remember certain things about this game. Like 3 minutes before this great kick, Sunmeral missed an easy 31-yarder.
And to get to Sumeral's kick the Giants and QB Charley Conerly missed on 3 consecutive passes trying to get the Giants closer. Even Sumeral was surprised he was sent out to attempt the FG.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on May 10, 2024, 05:34:38 PMI think the more intuguing conversation at least initially is if Lock can come in if needed and replicate what tyrod did last season if called upon. Tyrods explosive plays and deep ball work was top notch last season.

I get Tyrod was a walking injury but he isn't an easy person to replace with his knowledge of the offense plus what he brings off the field in a leadership capacity.
Hopefully Lock understands this is a pivotal point in his career. A perfect opportunity to take a step back and blossom. If he screws this up he's done. If he can bide his time and be prepared, he can become relevant.

He reminds me of a younger me. Of course that was last week and I'm so much wiser now.

He's going to wind up getting his wings clipped. Let's see how mouths off to that.

Quote from: 4 Aces on May 10, 2024, 04:35:59 PMThe funny thing is, this is all absolute nonsense that has no bearing in reality whatsoever. It's stuff people are pulling out of their rear end and presenting as fact, which is basically everything you read and hear now.

Daniel Jones is the starter and Drew Lock is the backup. That's reality. I'd imagine every diehard Giants fan understands that.
This is worth repeating.

My guess...
Batter is out. Runner back to first.
Batter struck out and even though the catcher didn't handle the third strike first base was occupied with less than two outs. Because of the dead ball happening the play is called dead before the baserunner established 2nd base so he has to go back to the base he had established when the dead ball was called.

Dru Phillips is working at nickel. #NYGiants  did not even bounce him outside on the first day of rookie camp.
I believe he is going to be the starting nickel as a rookie, as I was told by people in the organization when he was drafted.

Smart people around the league view nickel as important as boundary corner.

They might not pay that spot as such right now, but it's gonna hit soon, and Phillips embraces it.

Quote from: kartanoman on May 10, 2024, 03:43:31 PMBelief from Lavs was a catalyst, no question about it. But also challenging him to play right wing, from time to time, unleashed additional potential and, with that, grew self-confidence that was supported by a strong work ethic which he always had, but we didn't always see.

Things came together for Laffy, as well as a few Ranger players, but the commitment of each individual to sacrifice their "me" for the team's "we" may have been the biggest leap forward yet for these guys. That's what a winner in a head coach, along with his assistants, can do when a team has the talent but now needs to give of themselves to each other for the bigger picture.

I believe that's the difference this year.

Peace!

As ever, I agree. Look at the excitement of having 72 back in morning skates. This is a group of men, as you say together and buying in.

We will see what comes of it, but I'll always be proud of this group - regardless of what happens.
