I gave them 8+ wins last year, I bet the over, confidently  ~X(
This year I cant give them more than 6, so I won't bet, unless the line is 8; in that case I will bet the under.. I doubt it though. I have not checked yet, but they would set it around 6 is what I think they would do.

Quote from: Philosophers on May 21, 2024, 10:24:06 AMHe's not so special that if the OL only allows a very short amount of time before a QB gets hit that he will be effective.  NFL CBs can tie him early for a split second to screw up any effectiveness.  It's about the OL.

To me, what he is saying is: If I had better exposure, better conference, I would have probably been drafted in the third round and then, when I performed as I did as a backup, I would have got more respect than I am getting now, just because I was undrafted.

I like his confidence and I think with what he had around him and also being a rookie, he did an amazing job.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on May 03, 2024, 03:57:05 PMIs it really a flash of brilliance if Baker Mayfield, Dak and Jameis Winston are also listed?

With his supporting cast it illudes to great ability, if not brilliance.

The question was what it would take for Jones to be kept as the giants QB in 2025. My answer is based on the circumstances. If we win 9 games or more, we would be picking in the 2nd half of the first round; so chances would be that considering Jones' improvement, his cap hit if cut, and lack of better options will result in keeping him.

Sorry.. My answer is O line

Win 60% of the games he starts and have decent QB stats.

For me, I am excited about watching this competition, but I hope it is a real one and the best man will be chosen to lead our team back to glory soon.

Tommy seems to be quite under-rated because of his pre-nfl portfolio. I watched a couple of his games and I really think the kid has some special ability. He has a pretty good arm. He is accurate and throws some catchable balls. His pocket presence is excellent. He can buy time and hit the target running. If no one is open he tries to run or secures the ball for minimal loss. In the Washington game, behind that atrocious line, he was sacked 9 times, but was still able to throw some nice completions and win the game.
On the Jets game, I think, they tied his hands and he still almost won that game! He could have been 4-1, in 5 games with a lousy O line and average targets.

To me, last year's debacle was 90% due to the O line failures

Not having the defensive backfield as a concern, I did not check out any of those prospects; so I was surprised and disappointed that the 2nd and third picks were devoted to the secondary.

We got burned last year for not being prepared to replace Neal. I hope what they did in FA market is enough; more importantly, they are not going by HOPE either. If the line is functional and reliable, then from what I have gathered so far, this can be considered as a solid draft.

I really think JJ will have the best career. I base that not just on his experience and stats, but his leadership, winning percentage and his confidence, all point to it.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Who signed Frank Gore Jr?

I didn't see much from Gore, but I think Rice and McCaffrey both will make it.
