Quote from: y_so_blu on May 18, 2024, 09:05:32 PMThe prices make absolutely no sense. The design isn't even that special or interesting. No Giants logo even.

You could buy a generic custom t-shirt with "1925" on it for what, $20?
I wonder what genius is behind this?

Quote from: Jclayton92 on May 18, 2024, 09:09:33 PMI just spoke about this in another thread. I hope we practice with all 3 teams. Those practices will be the biggest tell as to were this team is currently. Not any of the otas, training camp, or preseason games.
Have they ever done that?

Quote from: LennG on May 18, 2024, 07:48:15 PMThere is a scenario where the umpire seeing that the runner intentionally interfered with a fielder CAN call a double play, with the runner out and the batter also out. It is rare as you would have to anticipate that the ground ball would have been a DP, and the runner did what he could to stop it. It is a legitimate call though.

Len, this reminds me of another MLB situation - runner on 1st and the batter hits the ball down the line and a fan touches the ball while it's in play, (and ultimately is kicked out of the stadium), and the hit is ruled a ground rule double. I've heard announcers in the past say that it's within the umpire's the discretion to allow the runner on first to score if, in the umpire's opinion, he would have scored had the fan not interfered. Yet I have never seen this happen, even when it's obvious the runner would have scored. I've only seen the runner on first get two bases and must stay at third.
Can you comment on this?

The KC Chiefs are the only team to play on every day of the week except on a Tuesday in 2024

Quote from: EDjohnst1981 on May 18, 2024, 02:44:20 PMFair enough, if that's his point of view but I think we've learned from last year not to glean anything from the pre-season, let alone OTAs and mini-camp.
Curious to see who we practice with this offseason in joint practices.

Last offseason the Lions dominated us in joint practices and I remember the story being oh well Dan Campbell is an intense guy so the Lions probably practice hard-core and go all out being at home.

Then 1 series in Carolina with 4 vanilla Waller catches later and we are the greatest show on turf.

So wild to see the narrative run wild because 90% of the beat writers thought the offense was going to be great after that carolina game.

Quote from: Ed Vette on May 18, 2024, 07:57:31 PMHe has the Receivers, whether he has the Oline or not, its not his fault. According to almost everyone here besides us. So, unless he's not healthy, why would they pull him? To keep him healthy so they don't have to pay an injury clause? Admit they were wrong about him and not drafting a QB?
That injury clauses is a very real concern for a guy that has played 16 games only once in his 5 seasons in the NFL.

41.5 million total for 2025

-23 million guaranteed if he can't pass a physical at the beginning of the year

-12 million guaranteed if he isn't cut by march

So if he is on the roster in March it'll cost us 42 million on the cap and if he is cut he could only cost 22 million, maybe even 11 if we spread the dead cap over 2 years.

So the difference in 30 million or 12% of our cap will be decided on whether or not Jones simply plays injury free, not whether he plays great or bad.

Quote from: LennG on May 18, 2024, 07:34:28 PMWhen I was a youngster, if a cop ever asked, or commanded us to do something, we did it automatically, not asking why, who, how, or because. Isn't that how most confrontations start between civilians and the police?
I am also not saying this isn't some rogue cop, but as a civilian do you really want to get into a situation where the cop may fear for his life and fire his weapon, even if it isn't warranted? We have seen this too many times where innocent people who did not obey a police officer's command, get shot. We do not know what is going thru the policeman's mind at that moment, so why be stupid and take an unnecessary risk?
People are saying how nice a guy Scottie is, really what does that mean to a policeman when he orders you to do something and you feel why to bother, I'm Scottie so and so.
The policeman may have been dead wrong, but you still need to obey their commands or face the consequences.

A good policeman can make split decisions and manage his emotions and calm things down. A bad one gives an order and beats a person up for hesitating.
