Quote from: MightyGiants on Today at 07:20:07 PMI am curious: do you think the fact that Jones was working behind the worst pass protection in the league and throwing to the worst receivers (per PFF) might have skewed last year's numbers when you compare that to Lock having the 28th pass protection, but throwing the 7th best receiver group in the league?
Is there really that big of a difference in the 28th vs the 32nd to you?

I understand you were trying to make a point that somehow there was a huge difference in the 28th vs 32nd but there isn't, not enough to jump the stats that much. Even if you want to say they have better wrs which they do, Lock still attacked down the field while Jones did not.

I dont know the answer to this- just asking.  If you looked at the top 10 WRs today, or top 5, how many would you think are fast?

Quote from: Stringer Bell on Today at 11:41:33 AMThat offensive foul call at the end was pretty terrible. You have aggressive playoff basketball being played for 47 minutes+, all for the refs to decide the game at the end.

It was such a great back and forth battle and great game. Just wish the players could have determined the outcome.

The call stood up to the challenge. Refs make mistakes all the time in real time, but it's hard to believe an NBA playoff ref didn't understand the NBA rule book when he was watching the play frame-by-frame on a close up replay. If an infraction was not committed there, it seems extremely likely the ref would have seen that in the replay and overturned it.

As for willfully allowing a clear infraction just because it's the final minute or two of a close game, that's a matter of fan opinion and a controversial subject. I understand the spirit of that argument, but it's a slippery slope if you just start allowing anything to happen just because it's late. Which rules should get enforced and which shouldn't?

Let's see what Daboll does with Lock. I don't know if he's ever had a good shot or good coaching at the NFL level before.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on Today at 06:07:22 PMJones 6 Games
Att 160
Cmpl% 68
Yards 909
Tds 2
Int 6
Yards per attempt 5.7
Yards per catch 8.4
10+ yards 33
20+ yards 9
30+ yards 1

Lock 2 Games
Att 76
Cmpl % 63.4
Yards 543
Tds 3
INT 3
Yards per attempt 7.1
Yards per catch 11.3
10+ yards 19
20+ yards 10
30+ yards 3

If Lock plays in 6 instead of 2 he'd have 706 more yards, and 7 more Tds. He would have doubled Jones 10+ yard catches, tripled his 20+ yard catches and have 8 more 30+ yard catches.

One throws down field the other does not.

This is my sleeper pick of the Giants' draft. Taken in the third round, he is definitely not a "leftover."

He has more brains than flash, but I'll take a boring CD every time. Just show up, shut up and do your job.

Barring injury, IMO he's the guy on the Giants most likely to have a long career (and then become a coach).

#NYGiants claimed and were awarded QB Nathan Rourke on waivers from the Patriots, per the league's transaction wire.

Rourke was waived by NE yesterday. He'll be a fourth QB on the 90-man roster with Daniel Jones, Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito. Can't see Jones doing much team work until late July.

Rourke participated in the 2021 rookie camp with NYG as a WR. He's a former CFL star. Was with Jags and Pats.

None of Giants' UDFA are officially signed until Thursday, so no roster move was needed.

Quote from: FL GMAN on Today at 04:09:23 PMI would have thought LT was higher than RT.

I guess Sewell signed more recently (perhaps by two years?) than Tunsil.

Still, I agree.

I also feel like Sewell just got drafted yesterday. Did he really already play out a four year rookie deal with a fifth year option? That can't be right.
