Wish the Giants had the problem of too many draft picks they wanted to re-sign that would command huge salaries.  Although, somehow, with the worst record in the NFC for the last decade they are still up against cap wise

Quote from: MightyGiants on May 02, 2024, 07:08:21 PM12 players officially had their 5th-year options declined:

No. 2: Zach Wilson
No. 3: Trey Lance
No. 11: Justin Fields
No. 15: Mac Jones
No. 16: Zaven Collins
No. 19: Jamin Davis
No. 20: Kadarius Toney
No. 22: Caleb Farley
No. 24: Najee Harris
No. 28: Payton Turner
No. 29: Eric Stokes
No. 32: Joe Tryon-Shoyinka

Alex Leatherwood (No. 17, cut from contract) and Rashod Bateman (No. 27, not enough accrued seasons) were not eligible.

Not sure I understand the part about Bateman not having enough accrued seasons.  He actually signed an extension:

Are we classifying Toney as a star?

One would think an "analytics" guy would know Nabers wasn't drafted in the top 5.

I remember a lot of people excited about Elerson Smith

The Giants record is the reason the teams they play have an easier schedule.

I don't believe Wink played a two-gap system

I thought that's what Daboll was referring to with his comment about Wink's "read and react defense" compared to the more aggressive style of Bowen.

Not surprised by no OL in the draft given the amount of past draft capital and current FA signings.

I was somewhat surprised by no DT being taken.  Just assume that the guys they liked were picked prior to the rounds they had them slotted.  Curious what some of the DTs outside of Lawrence will look like in a 1-gap system.

Quote from: Trench on April 29, 2024, 12:50:38 PMI would argue he did not do it all. For instance:

1. He was not a good blocker

2. He had trouble picking up the 1st down in short yardage situations

3. He had a lot of dropped passes

4. Many games were actually mediocre less that one monster gain

Would love to see his short yardage success rate.  I dont remember him getting stopped on short yardage too often.  I do remember him carrying Dalvin Tomlinson into the endzone in a playoff game and getting some important 2 put conversions over his career.

Quote from: TONKA56 on April 29, 2024, 12:53:33 PMNo sure why this "bad blocker" lable stuck. Wasn't he one of the best for the past two seasons?

That's what I recall.

Hopefully the OL can look like it belongs in the NFL this year.  If that happens the team will look a lot better.

Is Neal deaf in his left ear?  Could that be why he is slow off the snap?

The RB group may not appear impressive but I think it will be as good as the passing game allows.

It's a pass 1st offense now and that will either put the defense further back from the LOS and allow 4 easy yards on a draw or allow the defense to play close to the line and be in the backfield quickly.

I said 7 or 8.  For me it's all about whether the offense will be significantly improved or not.

The defense will be improved if the offense is.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on April 28, 2024, 09:57:37 AMI listed 1 guy yes, but you can ask a ton of guys here, there are a ton of examples of players on the line leaving and playing exceptional elsewhere that couldn't do anything here.

Not sure if he was exceptional,  but Hernandez was at least solid as a starting guard for one of the best running offenses in the NFL last year.
