When you scroll to the bottom, try to find these books and read them. I bought many of them years ago and they are insightful and give you a greater appreciation for those folks who made up the Giants in the past: even when it was going bad.

It's easy to cast the absolute whole as bad. But to do so is to throw the baby out with the bath water. So many good players and support staff who were stand-up soldiers during those times. That's why the Super Bowl XXI glory carried over onto them, for their efforts were not in vain.

Barkley is gone and overpaid Danny is going. Schoen will ease him to the side door this coming off season

There is hope for the future

Schoen likely felt like me but had to placate his boss and bide his time getting rid of them....anyway that's a thought.  Im happy with that possible addition by subtraction

Slayton is ok but he still unfortunately drops too many passes in key moments.

It will be very interesting to watch the progress of both Slayton and Bellinger this season. Both are key players looking to cement their roles.
Slayton had three drops last season. Double that for double targets and he's among the best in the league.

I agree that Taylor is better than Lock, but I have to hope that our QB play is better than last year unless we think Jones' 2023 level of play is his norm, which I don't. I'd like to believe 2024 Jones will not only be better than 2023 Jones but will also be better than 2023 Tyrod Taylor and 2023 Tommy DeVito. That's an unbelievably low bar for a $40mm a year 6th year veteran starting QB

Another poster had made the case that the Giants should not have even tried to trade Saquon, whether the opportunity to existed or not. I was addressing that argument. I did not state anything as unequivocal fact. My post was a conditional statement based on what I maintain is a reasonable (albeit not 100% conclusive) assumption.
