For Spags and Bill B it also helped to have a hall-of-famer at their disposal on defense for over 30 consecutive years!!!!  1976-2007.  Carson -- LT -- Strahan.  I've never researched to see if there is any other team that can make that same claim (or longer, even), but it's gotta be up there as extremely rare, if not singular.

I don't get the non-issue part though

Do you see Tyrod returning somehow?  The Buffalo guys loved Tyrod and grossly overpaid him
You have no idea what you are talking about. Tyrod Taylor led the NFL in BTTR last year. Meaning he completed the hardest throws with the highest value of any qb in the league last year.

It's the reason that Devito was benched. Tyrod Taylor was easily the best option we had and it wasn't close analytically.

1st graph shows just how good tyrod was vs the league in big time throws.

2nd graph shows EPA after being adjusted for how bad a qbs pass protection, skill players etc and you can see how big of a difference Tyrod was vs Devito.

John Fox was not top 10 but he was pretty good I'd say.

The light bulb, among other important Thomas Edison inventions.

America may have some flaws, but being short on innovation (both today and historically) is not one of them.

Quote from: sxdxca38 on Today at 12:17:47 PMI've wondered that same thing myself.

Do the coaches not see that? Or do they not understand you have to look off the safety?

Or do they see that, but because it's just an OTA they don't care?

It would be nice if a beat reporter would ask that question so that we could get the right answer?

I watch so many other QBs in drills and practice who look one way and throw the other way. Rodgers literally discussed the importance in hard knocks and he practiced throwing without ever looking at his WR.

I just don't get it.

Do you mean way down the road, well after this season?

Taylor is a New York Jet now.

Quote from: sxdxca38 on Today at 12:25:25 PMOnce again I'm sure you're a nice person in real life, but let's think about this.

The reason why Tom Brady was able to start at QB was because Drew Bledsoe got injured. If Bledsoe never got injured, Brady never would have played.

If BB had started a 6th rd pick in Brady over Bledsoe in 2001 he would have been fired.

The same applies to Devito.

If Daboll and Schoen bench DJ for Devito, an undrafted player, and have him start the season and he fails it would be a fireable offense, and there is no way Daboll and Schoen would do that.
They already benched Devito last year for Taylor so it's a non-issue.

The bigger question is whether Daboll is a good HC period

That's what he was hired for

The jury is still out but leaning towards dismissal if further positivity is not provided

He needs to run the table this year, or at least earn a shot at the 8 ball
