Big Blue Huddle / Re: Brian Daboll on Darren Waller

By the way. What happened to Bellinger after such a promising rookie season? He looked lead footed and sluggish. Remember..he Hulked himself out for camp last year and went pfft almost right away.

Quote from: Philosophers on April 25, 2024, 10:07:16 AMThat sure feels like a distinct possibility.

Unless the Vikings brass decided to take a long ship to nowhere, they know the Giants interest. They're going to trade for a qb-that is obvious or why accumulate picks?

Quote from: MightyGiants on April 25, 2024, 08:46:23 AMThere will certainly be plenty of fuel for the glass-half-empty types.  The Giants are likely to pick either one of the two most polarizing QB prospects or neglect the QB issue and draft a WR (albeit a very promising prospect)

Yes. Those two options likely are going to be front and center. How it unfolds will be the story when the Pats pick. But... :-??

Quote from: Philosophers on April 25, 2024, 08:10:17 AMThink about it.  All these QBs and prospects have met with hundreds of people from all the football teams.  Easy to forget names or mix them up with names from other teams.  JJ recited all the names as if he has been training with them for months.  That says something about their interest but also about him.

I like JJ a lot. I think he's going to be a real good, not great player. JJ kinda let the cat out of the bag, no? The fact they spent more time with him than anybody is revealing.

I'm sure both Daboll and Schoen are looking to the future at qb, no question. If they weren't, they're being negligent. That said, my thinking JJ is a just not good enough to trade picks for or even rate at 6.

He's seemingly a great young man with leadership skills to boot, but overvalued here. I've been consistent and would take an elite wr. But this cake maybe already baked...his comments so.

More reviews..."The best show in Detroit since the Purple Gang".."I thought this was Comic Con"..and "Wake me up when it's over".

Think of it as a Broadway reaction review..."I laughed..I cried..I made it from the bathroom on time".

The greatest nerd event of all time!

Quote from: MightyGiants on April 24, 2024, 03:55:22 PMSometimes you can risk going a little lower as different teams have different games, but your point is excellent

That would make a Viking trade probably entertaining at 11 and 24..plus more. But I don't see it. Take the best wr on your board.

I don't know..but Campbell has done a remarkable job in a few short years. And he's a team leader..big piece to Jared Goff's game.

Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on April 24, 2024, 12:32:53 PMWell, I read a bad story. Read it today and was surprised there was a relation to LT. Maybe he's not even LT's son  :-?? Grandson??? Unrelated???  :hmm:

I'm too tired and brain-dead to even research it

That's it, Jolly. No LT for you..ever  =))

LT-3 I like. Another DT will likely be coming with Bowen's scheme, no?
#42
Jolly..I remember coming home after the Dayne draft..and these complete draft nerds were looking through a huge guide  of prospects they've never seen or had no football awareness. ..shouting "oh I  love the pick".."Nah..whaddya u know".

It's complete nerd season always

Absolutely pass.  :boooo: Taking him at 6?  No. But I subscribe that he will be a starter somewhere and do well. But.. not as a Giant.

Quote from: Trench on April 24, 2024, 11:36:06 AMI strongly disagree about not having talent. WanDale, Hyatt, Slayton, Waller, even Bellinger had a very good rookie year.

With that said, I think it's almost a guarantee we go QB because it gives Schoen/Daboll a few more years of breathing room ...should expect a QB unless Harrison is there somehow

The job survival argument is one I really don't hope happens. No question..it will work for maybe 2 years..but that qb better move the needle big time.

Mara is a meddler. We know that, and have witnessed a proud franchise fall into a dumpster fire with his stewardship.

It's always there to consider.
