I find Casey Rogers quite intriguing. He has some game to him and rates very high in his RAS score. That score shows he needs to add about 10 lbs of muscle I guess. Put horns on each side of a helmet and a fat sword in his hands, and he'd look like a feared Viking warrior. I will be watching this guy closely to see if he can make the team and be of use to us. His athletic scores are comparable to Braden Fiske's (although Rogers wasn't invited to the combine) and would have been second fastest of all DTs. He also plays on special teams, and I've included a clip of him on a trick play where he turned a 4th and punt into a 1st down (he's no. 98)

I said 7 or 8.  For me it's all about whether the offense will be significantly improved or not.

The defense will be improved if the offense seems is.

Delaying the change for a year and bettering the team > drafting a failed qb and now having no assets the next few years
But that doesn't make sense when this class has been heralded for years and you don't know what is there next year. Regardless we are going to have to give up capital to get a guy, why not sooner than to continue to be horrible

Quote from: Jclayton92 on Today at 09:57:37 AMI listed 1 guy yes, but you can ask a ton of guys here, there are a ton of examples of players on the line leaving and playing exceptional elsewhere that couldn't do anything here.

Not sure if he was exceptional,  but Hernandez was at least solid as a starting guard for one of the best running offenses in the NFL last year.

Drake Maye is a far cry from Mitch Tribisky though in size/frame and arm talent.

I like schoen and Daboll but after 3 drafts we should see a plan, we should see a team forming and I don't see that yet. Plus with the hole at Qb and other spots it's hard to understand the vision but that has been the case for 10 years.

Quote from: katkavage on Today at 09:49:12 AMGood post. You have to assess the schedule. As of today how many teams on that schedule will the Giants be favored?

5-6 wins if Bowen bombs, up to 10 if he is legit.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on Today at 11:29:59 AMBetter to risk it and possibly end up with Josh Allen than trotting a broken qb out for year 6, who if he gets injured at all in 2024 gets his salary guaranteed for 2025.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on April 27, 2024, 05:00:36 PMNot trying to be negative, but none of these picks scream "steal" to me at this stage. That doesn't mean they won't end up being that, of course, but that's just how it feels at this stage.

I went with Nubin. Getting the consensus best pure safety in the draft 47th overall feels like solid value to me. He seems like a really good playmaker who may end up being better than McKinney.

I agree. My pick would be Nubin, although I didn't expect him (or any other safety) to go much higher than 47.

I just don't see any of the bottom 4 picks contributing in any meaningful way - outside of maybe Theo as a blocker or Tracy as a kick returner.

Phillips was a reach and the biggest disappointment IMO. They should have drafted Beebe or Goncalves in the third. And still could have walked away with Tampa (the CB I wanted) in the 4th. Ravens got a steal.

Vikings already have Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and TJ Hockenson. And prior to getting McCarthy they had basically nothing at QB. It is hard for me to believe this rumor. I understand their thinking may be that they don't intend to re-sign Jefferson possibly, but even still, he's in his 5th year option right now plus they have two other high end aerial targets.
