Wish the Giants had the problem of too many draft picks they wanted to re-sign that would command huge salaries.  Although, somehow, with the worst record in the NFC for the last decade they are still up against cap wise

Winner Pinnock, Bobby Ok, and Flott- Pinnock because he gets to stay at FS and continue to grow with Nubin at Strong. Flott because drafting Phillips gets him another Shot at boundaOK, Bobby Ok will thrive with all the talent around him on the front 7, and only get better.

Losers- Belton, Bellinger, and Gray- Drafting a safety let's Belton know that he will only get snaps if he beats Pinnock. Since Bellinger has been drafted we traded for a TE, and drafted another. I think he's the first person at risk of losing his job because Theo is a better talent now than Bellinger is now. Gray got stuck in the doghouse and never got out, maybe taking KR duties away finally will let him focus.

Minnesota has the same problem with Jefferson, who says he won't play this year unless he's paid a salary commensurate with top WRs (30+ million per). Will probably be our problem in a few years with Nabers, LOL

If Nabers has the same production Lamb has had they had better pay him. He won't be the problem, Thibs will be. The Giants committed big money to Burns and if Thibs continues to develop he's gonna want a similar deal in two years. Good luck figuring how to get that done.

At one point Jim Dolan was a meddling owner who managed to destroy two flagship franchises for nearly three decades. Always the slow learner it took him nearly 20 years to realize that he was the problem. He has largely removed himself from the day to day operations of both franchises to great success.  Perhaps after a decade of futility the Mara's have come to the conclusion that their meddling is the problem. It's entirely possible that Gettleman was a puppet and Schoen has free rein. Rose and Drury have free rein but Isaiah Thomas and Glenn Sather were incompetent yes men who clung to power because they largely insulated Dolan from direct criticism. I don't understand why that's difficult to comprehend. No conspiracy as far as I can tell.

Go back and get a copy of Dave Klein's paperback, "Giants Again" which tells the most complete story of how the Giants worked through "The Wilderness Years" all the way to the other side with George Young, AND Ray Perkins getting the Giants into the 1981 playoffs. A gutsy call in the 1979 draft to pick Phil Simms, and luck on their side, in the 1981 draft, when the Saints took George Rogers with the first pick, which opened the door for the Giants to select Lawrence Taylor, and the rest is history.

Remember it well. Gutsy was going with unproven Bill Parcels after Perkins left. And sticking with him after that terrible first year. I compare it somewhat to when George Steinbrenner was exiled for a few years and Gene Michael went to work on the Yankees without interference. Results followed.

I listed actual historic accomplishments by DJ.  Most reasonable people would consider a historic accomplishment (against a league with a 100+ year history) as "flashes of brilliance".  In what way did what you just say negate the point I made?

Remember him well'62 was our first year as season ticket holders. My guess is he would be a flex TE as opposed to an inline one, in today's parlance
