Goodell should mull stepping away, he's systematically ruining the NFL.

Schoen basically said sometime late last year, 'I looked at the college tape again and see no reason Neal should be this bad'. That was a shot across the bow at Bobby Johnson.

Bobby is gone. They signed a 30M dollar pass pro LG, they signed a 7M/year OG/OT in Elumenor. I bet they believe in what they have.

The offense was begging for the dominant WR1. Guessing it was Nabers all the way.

A total of 6 picks, this is exactly why I wanted them to trade down. They could've stayed within the top 15, still have an impact WR available and stocked up on picks (and maybe an established Corner).

Quote from: Philosophers on Today at 10:19:18 AMIf you value explosiveness and don't mind overstocking a position, why not take Troy Franklin out of Oregon as another WR.  Explosive piece.  If he's the best out there and if the Eagles were loaded up at WR, they'd still take him.  Can't have enough BPA pieces either.

I've wondered the same thing. This draft was bloated with WRs, three of the best in years, and about 30 who would be in the top 100 in any other year. It's almost ridiculous the number of good WRs there are in this draft. Franklin is good, but the two WRs that I really like are Devontez Walker (NC) and Ainias Smith (Tex A&M). Smith is a little guy, but plays three positions WR/RB/PR-KR (ST ace and Swiss Army knife and plays like his hair is on fire and even blocks like he thinks he's a lineman...big football heart)

There will be good WRs that go undrafted this year...it's that loaded

I get that, but we've had players do that it the past many times and forumites rush to thier defense in reminding us that it's a "voluntary" workout.

Quote from: Philosophers on Today at 09:29:49 AMI read that the Giants do not want to play Mills at safety but to have him as a more versatile piece at CB.  That left only Pinnock and Belton so the need was obvious for safety.  Phillips drafted for primarily slot but also outside on occasion is as much about his physicality as it is about his versatility.

I really like what I saw from Pinnock and the Great Dane last year. The team really missed Love however

Quote from: TONKA56 on Today at 09:02:50 AMWhy is everyone so obsessed with trading Slayton?

Because he said he wants more money and skipped a voluntary workout.

I think his stretch the field ability makes him a decent piece of an offense.  Ita not an accident he's been among league leaders in yards/reception pretty much every year.

Regardless, I don't understand the infatuation with trading him.

What do I want? I want a F-ing offense that isn't a complete embarrassment for a 10th year in a row. The Giants have three young corners. How about we wait to see how the develop before drafting another one that didn't have a single interception during his time in college. Listen he's Giant now so I hope he's successful but when you have an offensive minded coach you might want to play to his strengths. Frankly I'm just pissed at the prospect of watching our defense put the team in a position to win only to lose because we can put points on the board.

If the QB does his job and plays to the level his salary mandates and can stay healthy then you will get your wish. He has an Oline, he has a #1 and (2) #1A type WR, and he has one maybe (2) TE who can make plays. It's on him now.

As for RB, we will see how valuable the position is in 2024 terms. I believe they're a dime a dozen. The Jets made a splash with Adams last year and where is he now?...he didn't exactly light the place up. Let's see what happens we may be pleasantly surprised.

The other thing is our defense is not going to be blitz only anymore so maybe grabbing young defense players will turn out to be a smart thing.

I am still a bit uncomfortable with our kicking game. Maybe that sounds strange but Gano now makes me nervous and the Scottish Hammer is all over the place.

If I were him, I would do everything I could to get out of Dodge. If he was on a better team with a QB who could get the ball downfield he would easily be a 1000 yard receiver. Josh Allen would love him.

Now, he's just an insurance policy.
