Yes Lenn, I believe so. They let you into the lots 5 hours before kickoff. Brian is usually the first one there from our group so he can verify this.
Since I am fairly new to this, does everyone sort of bring their own food, snacks, or is there an order to what you guys usually do?
5 hours prior to kick-off is rule. Not sure if they change it for pre-season.

Bring your own drink. Next week I'll get the final tally and we can then bring different things to share. I can bring a grill. I'm sure Brian will too.

Ed, my son Dan and I will definitely be there on Thursday. We are shooting for 2PM so it looks like we can stake out our area. For all those coming please make sure that once you enter lot "B" that you turn right and go up to the road and then make your last left. Go down a few hundred feet and our area is on the left. The key is go right after you show your parking pass.
This is the group as it stands now. Several of us will be on line at 1:30 to secure the tailgate spot. Brian and I are bringing canopy tents to shield the elements. If you have one and the room, please bring one too. Bring your own lawn chair. Bring your own beverages. Then take a look at what some of us are bringing and then decide what you want to bring. Let's not bring duplicate items with the exception of a folding table, paper items and utensils, as you can never have enough of that.
If you're bringing something to cook, it would be good to bring a portable Grill but if you don't have one, we can share. Food like Ribs and burgers, fruit and cheeses and snacks are some items to consider. Just bring enough for everyone to have a serving or sample. We are packed up and heading to the stadium about an hour before the kickoff.
See the maps to follow for the tailgate area we will meet at. I'll start a PM thread with Phone numbers I have in case anyone needs additional help.

Map- Take Paterson Plank Road from Route 17 South which turns into Route 120. RT 120 passes in front of the stadium and the Izod Center will be on the opposite side of the road with the indoor ski slope. Once you are on 120 stay to your right and enter the Meadowlands at the first entrance and then bear right on the service road and about 500 feet you will enter the location for both Lot B parking lots. When you get your parking pass scanned, enter the parking lot on your right to the location I marked on the map in the above thread.

Ed, I will bring burgers. I was going to bring both dogs and burgers but since Brian is bringing the dogs I will do just burgers. I will be going to the Rockland Bakery on the way the the stadium so if anyone needs bread, rolls or anything else I will pick it up for you.
Brian, I'll get the hot dog rolls for you so don't bring them.

Andrew, check out the times that the train leaves Secaucus Junction to the Meadowlands. Service usually begins 3 1/2 hours before stadium events with departures every 10 - 20 minutes, then hourly during events, and every 10 minutes afterwards for 1 - 2 hours after events or until the last scheduled departure.
You get a train at Penn Station and get off at Secaucus Junction where you will transfer to the train to Metlife. The whole trip including waiting time for the trains should take no longer then 30 to 45 minutes.
When you get off of the train call us and someone will guide you to the parking lot where we will be.

We can start cooking at 3:30-4 so its fresh when you arrive. plenty of time to cook and eat.

I printed double sided copies for everyone of the Roster that the Giants gave out at Camp. Remind me to hand them out.

Sorry guys, I've been away for the past 3 days and unable to get online. We were in the Lancaster PA area, Amish country. On our way home today, we stopped off at a local farm stand and I bought a whole bunch of stuff that I would love to bring.
Just let me know if any or all of it is appropriate.
I have about 4 huge cantaloupes
2 small watermelons
12 ears of fresh local corn
about 3-4 huge zucchini's
I also bought a couple of bags of pretzels which I was planning on bringing.
My question is will anyone be able to grill the corn or the zucchini?
Can I bring the melons whole, or should I cut them up?
I still haven't unpacked the car and we have so much to do before I leave tomorrow. I thought maybe I could pre cook the corn, but I don't know if I will have time. Again will some one be able to cook the corn and/or the zucchini?
I have a package or two of Kosher Hot Dogs (most know I don't eat unkosher meat) so it no big deal to me to jsut eat what I bring.
Anything else?

This is extremely helpful. I couldn't find this on Google maps or internet. Im taking the same route. It sounds like we can't catch a secaucus junction train till about 330 then?

Thanks to all who came. We had a great time meeting and chatting, eating, cooking and frying in the sun. An intense burst of wind out of the blue upended our canopies early on but after six hours we managed to stay hydrated and the time flew by.
Thanks for all the cooking the food as usual was great and plentiful. =D> =D> =D>
It was a tad warm but right at the end the stadium provided us some shade.
It was a pleasure catching up with old friends and meeting some new ones.
We briefly discussed trying to bring back the away game get together. Which primarily has been a local NY / NJ get together to watch the Giants when they are on the road. It has also been getting group tickets to a Giants away game and all meet up at a remote location. In the past these were great times.
Looks like a great time! For those of us who are relatively new to this site, how about attaching some names to those pictures?

It was great to see many of the guys again and meet so many familiar people for the first time.

As one who usually doesn't go to many games, I fully enjoyed the tailgate. Meeting so many of my old friends (old, not in age :laugh: :laugh:) and making new ones. I know I had a great time. Thanks to all who brought so much food, to those that cooked it all and to everyone for the great company.
A little less sun would have worked better, but we managed.
And just to expand on what Tommee said, in the past, we have tried to organize a sort of BBH get together, during the year, to watch an away game, as a group. It hasn't been done in the past few years and it ahs been missed. If we do decide to try it again, this year, PLEASE, try and make it. We have a marvelous group here and when you do get to meet some of them, it will make your experiences on BBH that much more pleasurable and you will make friends for life.
Let's put that on the agenda.

Lenn, I agree lets try to get together more often.
A couple of observations. Bob was pushing salad, not sure how much went but Bob was making a serious attempt to keep a healthy look to the tailgate. It looked like the hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, pork loin, and steak went well. Maybe Bob failed with the health aspect.
As stated, it is great to meet old friends and make new ones.

Babywhales (Chris) Absolutely loved our chat and reminissing about past baseball victories (pvt joke) and if there is anything I can do to help your son in his new venture as an Umpire, never hesitate to ask. Andrew-We didn't get to chat much, and I am sorry for that. Hopefully next time. I will say though and this is said in a humorous way, I try and form a mental pix of some of the people who we chat with on the board and you are NOT the way I pictured you.
