Title: NGT How bout those Cowboys!!!
Post by: Jaime on September 24, 2023, 07:46:38 PM
When the game is on the line. Dak proves once again, he's not ready for Prime Time. .

At the end  of the Game, the look on their over rated HC McCarthy, was priceless.

That along with Miami scoring 70 were the surprises of the week

Kinda hard to be this excited after they beat us 40-0 with the overrated coach and not prime time qb

The worse feeling is when we lose, but what makes it a tad more bearable is when the Cowboys, Redskins & Jets lose... Now for the Eagles, they haven't been the same this year either. And our toughest part of the schedule is the early half. Gotta survive.

Hey True Blue, you ever see that T-shirt that says " I root for the Giants and whoever is playing Dallas"?
That would explain me to a "T'.
Thinkin' that Blowout loss was more about us buying into all that hype and thinking all we had to do was show up. And that goes for the Players as well as the Coaching Staff Redfaced

I lost the only bet I made this weekend, I have one fantasy team in a family league, the team sucks, lost to go 0-3, lost in a survivor pool (jackson9).

Cowboys  lost,  not a bad weekend

The loss the Cowboys endured today, may just be enough to cause some cracks in a Franchise that always seems to find a way to choke. Redfaced

That could be a killer loss for them when it comes to winning the division.

Cowboys probably saw what we did to that team in the second half, and then considered what they did to us, and then just assumed this was a week off for them where they could sleepwalk to a win in this game.

Can't do that in the NFL. All 32 teams can beat anyone if the opponent is not ready to play at their best.

That's why I don't pay attention to who is favored. The Giants have a chance to win each and every week. It may not be pretty or convincing but as long as it's a 'W', I'm good with it.

I think part of the issue with the Cowboys was injuries.   The Cowboys lost their best CB, and they were without their starting LT, C, and All-Pro Right Guard.

I wonder if Tyron Smith and Zach Martin would have played if it was a more respected opponent

Wow I can't imagine another team having to deal with these injuries. That would be devastating if it happened to us!   /sarcasm/

Let's send the Cowboys the world smallest violin with a note saying welcome to our last 10 season.

Injuries or not there is zero reason for the Cowboys to lose that game except for them beating themselves which they did yesterday.

Seattle didnt make any excuses without several starters this week.

In fairness, just because some teams overcome injuries (made easier when the other team's starting QB isn't playing due to injury), doesn't really negate the reality that injuries create disadvantages to NFL teams.

On a side note-  I really liked Joshua Dobbs when he came out of college.  I was surprised he ended up a journeyman and didn't enjoy more success.  I am happy to see he is taking advantage of finally getting a chance to be a starting QB.

If I were the Jets, I'd be accepting calls from the Cards for Murray.

You really want Murray? He, Lamar, and Fields I'm not sold on. They have their legs and use mainly the center of the field. They are generally not good at throwing all the parts of the field, more so the sideline and deep. This year will be telling for some as will next year.

I agree, Dobbs looks interesting. A team may take a shot at him if the cards go another way and he continues to fight and play well.

Me? I'm not a Jet fan. But if they want to salvage their season, he's light years better than Wilson. The Cards want to dump him so isn't a 4th worth it?

You're not the only one thinking the Jets need to fill the void at QB

I will say this: if I were the GM, I would stand pat this season and let the chips fall where they may.  Draft or acquire a QB next season.  Trying to fix the problem by acquiring a badly flawed QB like Murray (who ever heard of a homework clause in a QB contract?) almost never works out (from what I have seen).

Well that's a motley crew. Colt may be the best in the group after Ryan. Maybe Foles has some magic left.

Guess I can see that, but how much of an upgrade is that? Not to mention they mortgaged their future with the picks they had to give up for Rodgers.

Is their headache...

With the Vikings 0-3 start and Cousins due to be a FA after the season it makes sense that he would be a fit for the Jets.  But even at 0-3 in the NFC North the Vikings aren't out of it so not sure if they're ready to give up their season.  But maybe if they lose to Carolina this upcoming week leaving them at 0-4 it pushes them to look to dump Cousins.

Why would any team reach out to Josh Rosen? All of those other QBS were pure #1 QBS who aged out (except Kap off course). Rosen has been bouncing around practice squads the past few seasons.

I believe the $97 million in dead caps falls on Az. They can keep him or cut him next year before the $18 million guaranteed kicks in. I think he's better than any FA out there.

He may be tbh. However, I see him more as a flyer and similar to Baker Mayfield.

I look at how close that NE game was and what they needed to do against Xallas. He doesn't need to be Aaron Rodgers. Just move the ball and score some TD's. I realize he's never going to be an elite QB. The Jets talent and him can work. That said, it's never gonna happen. Because they are the Jets.

If the Jets seriously want to go for it this season Cousins is the best answer IMO. Obviously, they will need the Vikes to be amenable to a trade, but I think they might be at this point.

Cousins isn't Aaron Rodgers, but he's a good QB and one they can definitely be very competitive with given the rest of their roster. If they're really going for it, I don't see a better solution than this, as far as anything that's feasible goes.

Is the horse named "NFL Predictability" dead yet, or do we need to beat on it for another week?

While it's always pleasing to see Dak and Girls lay an egg, and to fully appreciate that the J-E-T-S are once again "without a QB", it was the Broncos record-setting debacle that turned everything on its head.

It's not just that it made the Giants Week 1 game against the Cows seem competitive, it's the out of bounds bleakness of having the League's 2nd highest paid HC and a clearly fading QB also named Wilson but with a much, much higher price tag.

But then as the Broncs play DaBears next week, it should make predicting pretty much a 50/50. At least, somebody will finally win... if it doesn't end in tie.

Of course, it might also be said that Giants fans opinions should be muted at best given that Our Heroes 2nd worst points differential through 3 games falls right between that of the Broncos and Bears.

Cheers!

for one more week?

Cowboys show us all again what their problem is. They thought the Arizona game was going to be a walk thru practice....and of course DAk, he seems to always come up small when his team needs him ...
Jerre got caught napping and reading how good his team is.

Has acquiring a QB during the season, ever worked out for the team in a hat same season?  Seems a lot to expect of a team, not to mention the QB.

The Jets don't need a future QB, they need a stopgap for one year. As was said, they're just too talented to hand it to Wilson and hope he can produce. PLUS, if anyone watched the Jets game, they sure didn't help him succeed. The playcalling was so predictable, even Romo would have liked to get down there and give the OC a kick in the butt. At least give him a chance with a legit offensive game plan. If you don't trust him to win a game, why in hell is he on the team?

They don't? Rodgers turns 40 in a couple months, and it's hardly a given he will come back in good form from this injury if at all. Zach Wilson is a confirmed bust. If you're the Jets and there's a QB you like in the first round who is available to you, why wouldn't you take him? Even if Rodgers plays next year, how long is he going to last?

Jets need more than just a QB.  Their OL pass blocks poorly.

If they are going to pursue a QB it should be someone who is mobil.  Cousins would be a mistake IMO.

The run game can help, but I think they will still need someone who can move around and buy time in the passing game.

They don't have the luxury of picking amongst a wide array of QBs who aren't complete scrubs. I get that Cousins may not be the perfect fit, and I would agree with that, but if they're trying to get the best possible results this season nobody else who could feasibly be available is in his league, with the exception of Kyler Murray, who is a huge can of worms because of his contract. Cousins on the other hand is nice and clean. You get him for this year and then you can move on (ie revert to Rodgers). With Murray you're buying in to a huge albatross contract not to mention all the drama.
