Well we won 2 Super Bowls in first 12 years so we probably spent wisely there since we had great OLs then.

in 2007 2 of the 5 were not draft picks (O'Hara and McKenzie)

in 2011 2 of the 5 were not draft picks (Bass and McKenzie)

Understood but others were but we got results out of them.  For the oast 10 years the Giants are snakebitten when it comes to drafting OL (other than AT but he cant stay healthy)

Didn't help by:

1. Neal not taking off just yet and
2. Taking flyers on the likes of a "project" like Peart

The Giants have spent a lot on the line but they haven't drafted high picks save for Neal and Thomas (with a 50% hit rate on those).

Don't forget Ereck Flowers a major bust

Hernandez a major disappointment

Richburg was 2nd rounder that the Giants didn't retain

Pugh was another draftee they let walk

1st rounder Neil didn't help the team the last 2 years and 2nd rounder JMS didn't contribute much as a rookie

All those picks and no ability to make sure the proper coaches were in place to develop them.

And look at how many guys have left the Giants AND THEN had performance jumps.

How many of these misses were due to having a particular blocking scheme which did not suit the linemen's best skills?  So picking wrong player for scheme.

Should the title of this thread say 2020 rather than 2000?
