Big Blue Huddle / Giants Running game
April 28, 2024, 09:17:33 PM
How are you feeling about the running back group ?

While obviously no Barkley is a downgrade I think our group itself can be decent

1. Singleterry I think can be decent as the main back but he shouldn't carry the load as much as Barkley did

2. Grey we drafted him last year ... now give him a bigger role ... right now is the time to roll the dice and see what we actually have

3. Tracy is the rookie who has been a wr more than rb .... Maybe he can be used as a backfield receiving threat since Jones does seem to dump it off a lot

I think we need to stop playing around and just see what we got.... We already know what we have in brightwell and Corbin ..... just give the youngins the playing time

You just never know... I know this is a "strong" qb class .... But man if it fails you always gave up too much

Happy we got nabers .... Build the team not give away all assets

And this is nothing in comparison to what we and other teams were possibly trying to give up

Okay I think this is how the future QB situation with the Giants works out ... a few different possibilities:

1. The easiest, quickest and least of a headache solution .. one of the top 3 drops in this draft .... DJ is cut after this season and we have our QB of the future

2. These all blend together on how I am thinking. The top 3 QB's are most likely gone by 6 and I don't agree and hope they don't reach for a QB outside the top 3 at # 6. I think the Giants go WR at #6 and keep draft picks without trading up. Filling in other needs of the team

With a new O-line coach, some new pieces, maybe Neal moves to Guard or having upgrades next to him helps him improve at Tackle. Topped with a new (Hopefully better) O-line coach the unit as a whole is improved and good to the point where DJ fans cant excuse him anymore. Please note, I am one of those DJ fans so I am not making any digs.

DJ will most likely have to burden all the stress and pressure on his shoulders this season as he no longer has Barkley to lean on. This will lead to 3 possible outcomes that I see happening :

1. The DJ miracle situation, with a #1 WR drafted , better O-line. Wandale and Hyatt a year older and a year removed injury (Wandale). He looks like a legit QB , Waller not quitting and being decent is a bonus weapon at this point , chances of this happening <10%

2. Singleterry shows us the dropoff from Barkley is not that significant, all the other pieces added to the team actually improve the team as a whole but DJ is still the biggest question mark on the team. We either end up sneaking into the playoff or missing out but not top 5 in the draft. So Schoen now has no choice but to trade the first round pick and future assets to get into to position to draft whoever is the best QB or 2nd best QB in next years draft. Yes we give up a massive haul, but because we filled in holes this year via draft and (hopefully) successful free agent signings it will be OK because QB was the main piece anyways , and we fill in a few other pieces via free agency and whatever draft capital we have left. Chances 50/50.

3. The team completely sucks, draft picks are not impactful at least not this season. The free agent signings don't really move the needle with the O-line and Pass rush (at that point Schoen may be gone). This happens and we have top 5 pick in the draft anyways we draft a QB and have other picks to work with. Chances 50/50

These are just my thoughts on how I see things panning out

Unless we get lucky in this draft which is the hope. I think we should just build the team out and figure out the QB situation next season. I think we are more likely to trade up next years draft with a better built team then this draft.

And I know right now the QB prospects next season are nowhere near the quality of this years draft. But I feel like that is something that can and almost always changes.

Big Blue Huddle / What do you guys want at #47 ?
March 12, 2024, 10:50:47 AM
With #6 I want a bonafide #1 WR .... unless one of the top QB's drop

Im torn between Safety or DT (Specifically a run stuffing DT)

If a safety drops that would be great .... But do we just roll with Belton and see how he pans out ?

But damn I think I am leaning towards DT... We may have possibly built one of the best D-Lines in the league .... I think getting a DT next to Sexy Dexy who can stuff the line not only makes us successful in the trenches .... but doing so can help our secondary... the good ole spags mentality

With Williams gone, would not mind resigning Adore if the price is right

Big Blue Huddle / OK hear me out

I was pissed as f*** we lost Barkley and Im not happy about the way he's acting

BUT

Upon further thought I feel like today has become more of a WIN than a loss

Why?

Losing Saquon sucks yes... but we just simply cant afford to pay a RB that much money

Losing McKinney sucks no matter how much you try to spin it... but the cost was really high

Now lets look at the incoming moves

We signed two midlevel Linemen, while not splashy ..... just the possibility of them being an upgrade is something we can look forward too... We also have a new O-line coach that in itself may have improved the O-line without the upgrades

Singleterry on the surface is no Barkley not even close ... BUT he does average 4 YAC ....  Now lets say the O-line does have some form of magical improvement to lets say the middle of the pack ... is Singleterry behind a decent O-line really going to be felt that much over an often injured Barkley behind a terrible O-line who only ran for 900 yards ?  IDK the trade off may be worth it

Then the obvious Burns... we essentially traded Williams and moved back 8 picks for Burns... crazy deal but absolutely worth it

Whoever we have at safety can hopefully have an easier job with Burns and Thibs wreaking havoc causing opposing teams QB's to throw it away

Azeez should also benefit as he is now only needed situationally and can hopefully keep fresh legs and less chance of injury

While I want a QB I rather the Giants not reach and just draft someone like Nabers unless one of the 3 QBs drop

I think the building blocks are better off now

for 2nd and 5th
#12
the Giants could have been locked into

I think we will miss out on the top 3 QBs and that is a bummer

I honestly dont know what I want, I want a QB but I also do NOT want to give up the farm including next years #1 to move up this draft

IF only IF we dont get a QB ...... I think we need to draft a WR1 if that dude after Harrison is available.

I think we are screwed QB wise this upcoming season. Jones coming off a torn ACL when his biggest strength is his legs is not a good position to be in.

What do you guys want to happen ?

Big Blue Huddle / So how do we collect the pieces
December 25, 2023, 08:20:01 PM
WHO are the free agents available

We are back in contention for a QB in the draft

But we desperately need a WR1 and sadly another linemen

I'm tired of the 2nd-3rd round receiver ... we have a bunch of decent receivers who would be better if we had a legit wr1 ...

I think the strategy has to be either draft a qb and hope it's for real or maybe draft Harrison if we can

If we get Harrison we have to roll with DJ for another season

If we draft QB I see no point in keeping DJ ... if anybody would bite at DJ I'd say take whatever you can get for him .... 3rd round , 4th round picks whatever and just let the rookie take over... I find bridge qb's to be useless unless you actually plan on them playing the entire season

Now if we go QB .... what receivers are available in free agency who will instantly be wr1 ? That becomes need #1 via free agency

Who is available at o-line via free agency ?

Are we giving Neal another year at Tackle ?... let's not make the Flowers mistake and continue to force him to play Tackle... if not play Neal at guard and see if it sticks

Resigning Simmons is a must , and McKinney if the price is right

Barkley I love the dude... but he was completely idiotic not taking the 12 mil a season... the guy seems to be a great human being... but my god when it comes to financials with bitcoin and creating an off-season drama for no reason...he is not the brightest in that department. Barkley is worth 6-7 mil a season at this point .... He did it to himself

2nd and 3rd round have to be  some sort of EDGE , DT and Oline combo

Idk how we are going to do it ... it whether we draft a qb or not ..wr1 and Oline have to be addressed

Big Blue Huddle / Farewell DJ
November 06, 2023, 12:22:25 AM
I only got to watch the first half if the game since I'm in a completely different time zone and it wasn't worth it to stay up for the second half but I was able to see DJ go down

I was one of the supporters but now his time is officially done (well it should be ). I knew after that first sack where it looked like he was tripped that something was wrong.

Did dj have his faults , definitely. I also think the dude was shellshocked .... Just looking at that replay his little mini steps he does has to be damaged fears from a bad o line.

Nonetheless it's no point of trying to move on with DJ if it is indeed a torn acl .... His. Biggest weapons was his legs and ability to run for the first downs . Not only do we have to worry about the neck now we also have to worry about his knee.

Whatever qb we get.... It has to be someone who isn't afraid to throw it down the field.

Our first three picks should be QB , o-line and whatever is the biggest need with the Seahawks pick

Sucks we are back to draft talk mid season as giants fans

How can I watch the Giants games, idk how long I will be gone so I need a solution ! QUICK lol

Seeing him being bounced around not by the defenders but his fellow linemen was enough for me

I get that maybe Glowinski has effort issues .. but my god he's better than Lemieux .. Daboll just STOP with the Glowinski oh punishment

I mean either way we weren't winning this game ...just needed something to vent about besides the typical Jones or coaching staff vent
