You mentioned the D.  They showed a graphic on the broadcast that the Giants have the youngest D in the NFL with average age of starters at 25.5.  We definitely have seen this group turn a corner.  It's not perfect, but with a young group and decent additions this could be a really solid defense.
And that's without Leo. Credit Wink for adjusting his game and mixing in man and Zone coverage to enable some of these takeaways. He found a niche for Simmons and has them working with each other. Much less mistakes and broken coverages. That stop on the two point conversion was as epic as that turnaround Spags had the third game of his first season.

WDR was getting slammed in the game thread before he broke out last night. It was nice to see him featured and come up big.

Somewhere in all this I have to think JMS had a hand in opening up the middle for Tommy to escape and gain yards on the ground. I was concentrating mostly on Tommy in those situations. Anyone?

What's interesting to me is how much fun they are having with Tommy compared to last season with a winning record and playoff bound. LY is was like they were waiting for the next shoe to drop. This year after the entire team was depressed, this emergence of new life, new attitude and confidence has the entire team on a high. It really looked like the Giants were going to have the game stolen from them last night. The Defense said, Hold My Beer, if we have Tommy, we have a chance. Then knowing if they lose this game he may not start next week, he goes out and does his job to set up a winning FG and it was like they won the Super Bowl on the sidelines. We haven't seen this level of enthusiasm after a win since the 2011 season.

Quote from: kingm56 on December 12, 2023, 12:44:11 AMSerious question.  Putting Devito aside for a second, does anyone want DJ to return as our starting QB?
The season isn't over yet. At this point I think I need to see how his rehab goes. If healthy to start day one, then yes. It's his job to be taken away.

Always liked Packer fans. Joined us for a couple tailgates too. Two franchises with rich history.

The game wasn't elite or great ... but he had a good game
A good 5th start. Let's wrap our heads around that. We don't know how high his ceiling is but all the BS claims that he's not good and has a noodle arm shouldn't be so quick to judge. He's improved every game. He leads the team to a game winning drive and he didn't flinch or break a sweat. Three wins in a row.

He outplayed a first round QB with years under his belt. He's just completed another level. I can't wait to see what he can do with an oline and when they take the training wheels off.
