Also Rich, since the entire second half was run plays, I was wondering how many pass plays they used to grade the Receivers.

Rich, I saw McKethan in as the 6th Lineman in place of a TE in the Run Game. How many snaps did he have and what was his grade?

Quote from: Gmo11 on October 30, 2023, 04:38:02 AMDid Devito do anything at all to inspire confidence when he was given the chance to throw early? Behind that OL without his best receiver and looking mostly shell shocked while the defense was all but pitching a shutout I'd argue 3 and out + punt was a greater chance of winning the game than telling Devito to go wild and hope he doesn't take a sack/fumble or throw a back breaking INT.

Probably should have still handed it off on 4th and 1 and hoped for the best though.
In retrospect, running the ball there would have eaten the clock with a first down. Even if they failed, it would have done the job. But you have to expect your kicker to make a chip shot even with a bad knee. He had no problem with kickoffs.

No, not at all. Read.

Lots of low snaps yesterday

Yup, and he's starting next week. TT prepared all week. If he cleared Friday, Saturday or Sunday, he wasn't playing although I won't rule out the hot hand theory. If he did clear, he should have been the backup at least but we know that was never going to fly.

Don't you find it odd that this morning he's miraculously healed?

Another issue: did the negative press stuff affect the way Wink called the game?

... or what Daboll instructed Wink to do in calling the game?

Bob
I knew he was dialing up the pressure on Wilson no matter what the weather conditions were. I think that kid has some promise. He's come a long way this year.

Really Bob? Seriously?

Quote from: uconnjack8 on October 30, 2023, 10:02:42 AMSurely they could find some cap space if they really wanted to right?  But it seems like they haven't made a certain amount of roster moves to avoid playing that shell game.

He sat on his hands gambling on DJ and Gano.

They need cap space to sign a QB and a kicker. ASAP. The Cap was badly managed. How are they going to get through the rest of the season when more injuries start mounting up?

Next season they need to support both Lines because Leo and Golinsky are gone.

Barkley is clearly not fully healed and put up a Herculean effort yesterday and was their only weapon. He may be on the wrong side of the market but he's a warrior you want on your side.

Wow! What a coincidence!!!

But tomorrow... not today.  LOL

In the long run, it was a TEAM loss, so his blunder wasn't the only boo-boo in a game full of incompetence.

Bob
It's important to note this was a breakout game for a player who started the season lacking effort and a reputation for being a narcissistic hot dog. He was all business yesterday. Let's hope he doesn't need a week of fan admonishment to motivate himself going forward. The game wasn't on him. It was on Schoen and Daboll and Kafka. How the xxxx can they go into a game with a gimpy kicker and a QB they have not prepared and had no confidence in?

Jaime, he's made some bad decisions this season for sure. Sometimes it's a flip of the coin as to what the right decision is. I think we have to stop the two year HC firings unless the Coach loses the team. He hasn't. Although he's no spring chicken, with some support, he will learn hopefully and work through this.

As for Schoen, he has this team cap strapped where they couldn't even bring in an experienced backup to Taylor and his injury history and... he let Gano go into that game with a bad knee when he clearly needs to be put on IR. He let Phillips walk when he was clearly the best backup Tackle, although that's a partnership decision.

As for the Receivers, none of them were open when TT was still in the game. As Ceri said.

I also think he supported Jones because the owner fell in love and that two year out reeked of placeholder.

The team is still building. He needs another year.

Quote from: Bob In PA on October 30, 2023, 07:56:43 AMEd: No I won't. You know I defended Number 5 as "hard" as anyone here last week, but he personally lost the game.

In the NFL, one bad play can wipe out an entire day's worth of outstanding effort, and that's exactly what happened.

His off-sides penalty to start the final drive of regulation stopped the clock and gave Jets the ONE TIMEOUT they needed to travel far enough to tie the game. Inexcusable. It's as bad as being off-side on a game-winning field goal attempt which is missed, giving the opponent a second chance to make it from five yards nearer.

Bob
Look at my time stamp Bob. Before the off sides. Although there was a couple of Jets players who were off the hook after that.

Gotta give credit to Zach Wilson who came up big to win the game.

Sometimes the other team just makes plays.

This game has made me reflect on just how many words have multiple definitions. I was looking for parts or pertaining to a bow or violin, and different types of alarms.
