Quote from: DaveBrown74 on November 02, 2023, 12:19:11 PMSo we definitely think it's better to have a GM who seeks players' permission before trading them and allows them to be the final decision maker, even in the event that the GM thinks their decision is not in the best interests of the organization?

Don't get me wrong - as I said in the other thread, I think this feedback from Leo definitely reflects positively on the organization, but I do think there is another side to it that is worthy of at least pondering.
I interpreted it as he had multiple offers and he gave him a heads up. Leo knows he wasn't getting signed to an extension or a new contract. By allowing him to be involved it actually made his negotiating the best deal easier because Seattle can speak with his agents and work out something more long term instead of a one season rental. The Giants got a heck of a deal.

Yes, I saw that and it was definitely handled well.

Two separate issues here. An abusive unprofessional owner who lacks people skills and uses his power to satisfy his ego... and stupid business decisions creating division within the organization and a toxic work environment.

I have two personas. One that roots to win every game and one who only wants to win the day before if it validates DJ and proves there is no need to draft a QB. I would be fine with losing every game the rest of the year until Sunday.

Quote from: TDToomer on November 02, 2023, 09:54:18 AMI have a different angle. Get out of that comfy warm sky booth and get your ass onto the sidelines and work face to face with your QB and his players while they are off the field. Why isn't he on the sidelines?
I said that.

Quote from: T200 on November 02, 2023, 09:41:08 AMBeen saying he needs to be gone for over a month now.

I get the offensive line injuries and understand how the lack of chemistry up front will kill an offense. He has done very little to call plays to maximize the talents/skills of his players. There were minimal rollouts and plays to move the pocket for Jones. No screens to alleviate the quick pressure up the middle. Very few shots downfield to move the secondary out of the box.

Yeah. He needs to be fired. Maybe he wants to be back in KC now that Bienemy is gone.
Daboll should have hired Bienemy. Daboll can finish the season calling the plays and bring in a complimentary OC next year.

He played a supporting role in the Plax shooting incident that unraveled the SB bound 2008 team and he's going down!  :angryfire:

Actually I hope he gets the job permanently. He was a good player, student of the game and natural leader.

As the President of the Kevin Gilbride fan club of North America, I declare this Offense broken!

I wonder if he sits in a booth at the practice field.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: The next 4 games
November 01, 2023, 10:45:07 PM
Quote from: DaveBrown74 on November 01, 2023, 05:43:52 PMThe truth is that of our remaining 9 games, only three are against legitimately above average teams (Dallas and 2x Philly). Everyone else is average or (in a number of cases) worse to significantly worse than average.

I'm not a big "if only x happened, then y could have happened" guy, but let's face facts - both the Buffalo and Jets games probably should have been wins. It is not insane to think we probably should be 4-5 right now with a pretty manageable 9 games remaining.

But we're not. And we're not because bad teams find crazy ways to lose games, which is what we have done. So it's very hard to feel any sort of confidence about the balance of this season at this point. And even if we go 6-3 in the remaining nine, which seems completely absurd at this point, that's STILL not going to get us in. We'll be picking 14th or so, well out of range to even move up to get a top QB, and we'll have nothing to show for it.

So while I will obviously always root for the team during games, as I know no other way to be a fan, it isn't entirely clear what I'm even going to be rooting for, other than just the fleeting satisfaction of a win on that particular day.
Two games they would have found a way to win in the early part of last season.

One of the facets of Closed Loop training is to blueprint your successes. Something that seemed to be fleeting. Something that seems now lost.

As it turns out he hasn't achieved the expectations of many fans here who were looking for him to be the missing link to a thriving Offense. I recall over a thousand yards receiving by many here and a Red Zone TD machine.

Not his fault that the Oline and QB struggled and he was a wasted weapon for more than half those games. Three games over 75 yards and just one TD.
