Sounds like a woman/motherly Marie Barone thing. Although I remember many years ago the old man commented negatively to me on the side about a woman I brought by the house. He was right. And no, it wasn't Linda. lol

I would have to have very, very serious reservations to make a bad comment to a friend or family member about who they were dating or engaged to. Like knowing the guy was a scumbag or the gal was a putana. I did however have a startling dream about the man someone close to me was engaged to and I told the father who is close to me, not knowing how to truly interpret it but the dream was not good. Never told her about it. I got to know the guy and it eased my reservations. Regardless, I never would have mentioned anything to her.

People have happy marriages, bad marriages, and marriages that end in divorce. So, unless someone's live is at stake, MYOB.

Few more Giants contract details:

• CB Darnay Holmes: 1 year, $2M with $50K guaranteed. He got the rarely used "four-year qualifying player" veteran salary benefit (VSB). Players with four straight years with a team can receive a base salary worth up to $1.45M more than the minimum while the cap hit is at the level of a player with two years experience. Long story short, his cap hit is just $1.3M.

• OT Matt Nelson: 1 year, $1.3M with $75K guaranteed. This is a standard VSB contract, so the cap hit is $1.2M.

• Dexter Lawrence's restructure has been processed on the NFLPA site, so the Giants now have $8.3M in cap space.

With a new DC, now he's contemplating calling the plays? Really?

It's surreal how that could have resulted in the complete demolition of the bridge. Even with the weight of that vessel, the other sections should have been independently supported. Linda told me she was on that bridge over a decade ago and it was scary back then.
