Big Blue Huddle / Re: Gano to have surgery

Remember, this guy is an All Pro and holds himself to a ridiculously high standard above your average, run of the mill, NFL kicker (if that term is appropriate, which all 32 would tell me it isn't).

He did the right thing by electing to go on IR and have the surgery now so he'll be ready for next season. That's about all he can do and it is unfortunate that it came to that in the first place. In my opinion, it is no different than me going in, this past May, for a total knee replacement (NOTE: my planting leg). Six months on, I completed all my rehab, and I'm going at the world with this thing; albeit, limited than my original knee because of its mechanical limits. Let's hope Gano doesn't have to deal with any of that.

Peace!

Nice try Lawrence for going to bat for a fellow kicker--I believe Gano got most of his extension guaranteed.

Having said that I am sorry about Gano--for most of the season he has been one of a few bright spots

Need to settle down on the blame game here with Gano and the Giants coaches, trainers, etc. This is the slippery slope when guys have to play to keep their jobs because they don't have fully guaranteed contracts.

This is how this would have went down last week.

He kicked in practice, said he felt fine.

Kicked in pre game, said he felt fine.

In Game: Made one FG, missed one FG, made one PAT, missed one FG and hit 2 TB's out of 3 kickoffs.

Pro Players push themselves to the limit to keep their jobs, they are wired different. Once Graham saw his performance affecting the team he had to speak up.

Hope Graham has a successful surgery and comes back as the All-Pro kicker he is. 🙏🏻 #NYGiants

Big Blue Huddle / Re: OT coin toss-wrong choice?
October 30, 2023, 11:47:12 AM
Quote from: Bob In PA on October 30, 2023, 11:33:09 AMQuick: I agree only because it is inconsistent to NOT trust your offense to make a 4th and short that would have ended the game, and three minutes later to trust your offense to not go 3-and-out on the first drive of OT. Bob

Bob

This is so patently obvious today isnt it??   THe inconsistent choices of the coaching staff has been one of my biggest concerns all season.

To be clear  I am not blaming DeVito for anything  I just know that there have been posts here talking about DeVito in place of DJ

The quickest way for me to forget today is try to think about next week

So how do all of you who wanted Devito out there feel about him being your starting QB next week

Its time for DJ to put his big boy pants on and get the hell out on the field and show us what he is made of

Those Of you who have clamored for Devito should feel real good about him starting when we have a coach who showed the world that he has no confidence in him

Big Blue Huddle / Update Cap Space
October 28, 2023, 10:44:39 PM
According to Over The Cap--the Giants at$991K  are last in the league

How is JS going to operate for the rest of the season if he doesnt make some moves prior to the trading deadline??

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Brightwell on IR
October 28, 2023, 03:28:23 PM
As I posted this it reminded me that the Giants have a game tomorrow
I'm thinking that so many of the Giants players have in the past played with our emotions in that they tell us what a teammate DJ is--work ethic over the top, great in the locker room etc etc etc.I kind of forgot that we had a game tomorrow  because most of the narrative this week has been DJ and the Giants need for a QB.  Who do we draft?  Number one priority is a franchise QB.  Do we sell at the trade deadline to accumulate assets so that we can move up in the draft to draft that QB?  I'm thinking all that talk is just fluff.  It seems as if DJ is no different than so many others.  He got his money and now he wont even take the field because he has a little pain in his neck

Cmon DJ suck it up.  Get your butt out there

You want a little bit of advice?  Hell I'm going in for surgery on Monday--replacing my pacemaker   Piece of cake--Thats a hell of a lot more serious than a .little pain in the neck   but what am I doing in preparation?  Trying to figure out how the Giants win Sunday and then again next Sunday  because at 4-5 I would expect the narrative to change drastically

DJ I know that you went to Duke the school of pansies as my UCONN Huskies have shown  but you are a GIANT now--you play hurt because we fans demand it

I'm tired of reading about your replacement
