I think we have to consider that for 2 seasons now it has been drilled into DJ not to commit turnovers. Due to the fact that the O has been limited due to various reasons. I am not absolving his play, but I believe that that would cause some hesitation on his part to getting the ball out quicker.

Quote from: Doc16LT56 on October 16, 2023, 11:34:32 AMI'm telling you all we are in a time warp back to arguing about whether Kent Graham is actually better than Danny Kanell (he was/is). And the Danny Kanell dead enders refuse to give an inch of ground. They would rather see the franchise remain where it is than to accept that Kanell stinks.

Difference being Kanell 2.0 is making 40 million which is a joke.

That is not the memory and at my age it's not what I remember. Now, I thought that Graham was a better player. In his last year where he defeated the eventual SB champs Denver, he was replaced by Kerry Collins the following year.

Indecision is the culprit. What could we expect? Neal is a disaster, Ezeudu and him can't pick up stunts. Then we added two guys directly from the Practice squad to fill in during the game!! They are totally confused and disoriented.
What a disaster.

Great post Big Moose, a very good synopsis of the circumstances.

So, what is Shoen and Daboll supposed to run around and panic. Now is the time to be more judicious in their moves at this point. The root of the problem is the OL, with Andrew Thomas and the promising C in JMS is only 40% of a somewhat functional OL, with the possibility of Bredeson might help. Ezeudu, Mckethan, Neal the jury is still out. I think Glowinski and Lemieux have no future here. And what does Pugh offer to a desperate situation? They have an OL coach who we have asked to perform miracles with the talent on hand with the possibility his job being in jeopardy.

On Defense, I have questioned whether the league has caught up with Winks D. They are still getting gashed up the middle. I thought there would be take a little time with the secondary starting 2 rookie corners and a S in Pinnock who also is lacking experience. A pass rush is pretty non existent all contribute to the less than stellar defensive play.

I'm not a fan of making moves for their own sake.

Quote from: Ed Vette on September 26, 2023, 12:26:43 PMExplain to me why Schoen didn't pay Love.

I think the Giants believe they have 2 young S's in Belton and Pinnock that they are high on. IMO, it may have been a matter of $ and they had to make cuts.

I thought KT might be soft and had hoped others here would be right, but my observations are proving correct.  He dances on plays.  He plays with no power and explosiveness into players.

Phil, in Banks latest video with Papa he said KT has to play with violent hands. I would think it would be useful to get the OT off balance instead of allowing him to clutch and grab.

I know more than a few people that are addicted to gambling. 2 I know for a fact after making a great deal of money over the years, died penniless. IMHO, it's an addiction with the NFL contributing to it being a fool's game.

For my own enlightening what is the going rate that the NFL gets from these sites?

Quote from: MightyGiants on September 22, 2023, 02:33:47 PMI listened to Bobby on his podcast.  He said the things with screens is you need to practice them. He said it's about lane integrity similar to covering punts or kickoffs

Rich how much lane integrity can you expect when they rushing 6?

Big Blue Huddle / Has the league caught up with Winks D.

Let me preface this by saying I am not an Xs and Os guy. And I realize that many of the mistakes made could be due to inexperience. I was happy when they hired him and last year, they were one of the best redzone Ds in the league. But the scores and yardage given up last year and this year, I find it's concerning. Many on the team were enthusiastic about his hiring with the aggressiveness, but maybe being an old Giant fan spoiled with the likes of LT, Strahan, Carson, Banks and Osi who overwhelmed the man across from them. Right now, we have a disenchanted Thibs and an oft injured Ojulari.

Bobby Skinner posted on twitter they are vulnerable to screens which makes sense when you are rushing with 6. cpmments are welcome.

The way I saw it he was tripped in the pileup and pulled Davidson along with him. I see no intent there.

Look no further than the OL. At LT we have a player who was part of the G rotation in pre-season. Lemieux who played his first game this year. A rookie playing C. At RG who as a rookie last year saw his first action last week and a struggling RT in Neal. Not exactly a recipe for success going against one of the best DLs or front sevens in the league.
