Hi Mike. Nice write up. Your knowledge and interactions are a welcome addition to the board!

Progress for me would be a functional offense.  Last season was embarrassing. I thought the o line was fixed- nope. If Runyan and Elumenor played as advertised,AT stays healthy,  and JMS improves, good thingscan happen. Nabers should be the go to receiver to make things exciting.
On D,I'm excited about the edge rushers, but concerned about D line depth to stop the run

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on April 28, 2024, 12:05:56 PMI often think fans somewhat overrate the importance of coaching (relative to the importance of the actual talent level on the roster), but with O line in particular I think coaching matters quite a bit. I don't know exactly how good Carmen Bricillo is or will be, but I am extremely confident that he is at least somewhat of an upgrade over Woody Johnson, and I am cautiously optimistic that he may be a very large upgrade over Woody Johnson. I'm eager to see what impact he is able to have.

Neal was a total disaster for us at RT last year as well as in his rookie year. That was a major source of the trouble (albeit far from the only one). Elumenor played at a respectable level last year at RT for Vegas, for Bricilo. I don't know if they're planning on giving Neal another shot at RT and using Elumenor as a guard, but either way I think it's safe to say that we'll have much better RT play this year. Either Neal suddenly gets much better, or Elumenor takes over. Either way, that side of the line will be a lot better than the last couple of years, where we were counting on Neal and Glowinski whereas now we have Runyan and either a much improved Neal or Elumenor, who is solid.

That alone is big IMO. If Thomas can stay healthy, and JMS can improve from his rookie season (not a huge stretch), this line can be quite decent actually. Runyan is going to be fine, Thomas is an all pro caliber guy when healthy, Elumenor was a 70ish PFF caliber RT under this coach last year, and JMS is a talented player who had a rough rookie year but figures to hopefully improve in year two. Left guard is a bit of a question mark but we have multiple options there, so hopefully the best (or least bad) of all of those options is good enough to not mess up the whole line.

I actually think this will be a league-average line this year.

Another solid post!  As of now,  Elumenor is the best RT on the team. Based on age, size, and draft pedigree, if the competition is close, I'm sure Neal will get the nod at RT. If not, then Neal, Ezuada and McKethan can see who performs the best

CB, RB, and safety are in play. Personally,  I hope the next 2 picks build the trenches at guard and DT.

That was a nice piece, well written. I wish him well!

I see Neal taking 50% snaps at starting RT with the new guy we signed from Raiders the other 50%. Neal will get plenty of snaps at guard too. If the competition at RT is close, I could see Neals youth and draft slot giving him an edge. But if he is clearly outplayed, he gets to compete to compete for a starting guard spot. I'd love to see him earn a starting spot purely on merit

Nice write up Jolly! Rich mentioned there have been many times we thought we solved the o line fix in the off season and been disappointed.  Once again,  I love the upgrades on paper.  It will be interesting to see where Neal fits

Quote from: Gmo11 on March 14, 2024, 10:24:41 AMI saw one reporter, I forget which one otherwise I'd post the tweet, that said he wouldn't be surprised to see before the end of the season:

LT - Thomas
LG - Neal
C - JMS
RG - Runyan
RT - Eluemunor

I don't hate it if I'm being honest.  I'd prefer Neal pull his head out of his ass and play RT but I'm not exactly confident of that happening so I'd love to see how he does at guard next to our best lineman who might be able to help him out a bit.

I'd be happy with this line up. Id re up Brederson and Phillips for depth as well.

Best looking RT play we've seen in  a looonggg time!

Interesting. Still young and has some experience. Was he a 2nd round pick?  Not a bad pick up.

Quote from: EliWasrobbed on March 11, 2024, 11:09:39 PMi know plenty sir, no need to be a dick.

defensively after the Burns move we are much better.. BUT assuming we don't draft a QB, this will be potentially the worst offense of 21st century football even with our 2 oline additions. Save this post!

Exactly the post that will get you banned. Congrats for making this easy

Looks like a solid move.   I'd like to see him platoon at RG RT in preseason. May the best man win

Man, that looks expensive for good, not great #s. No doubt he improves the D, but is he worth that much?

Quote from: EliWasrobbed on March 11, 2024, 03:58:47 PMAnother overpay by dumb Schoen. Packer fans on twitter say he's average, almost got replaced, but for the Giants he's better than what they have.

Schoen could not be a worse GM if he tried. fully expect him to trade up for JJ McCarthy given his stupid moves so far.

Seriously. The negativity is tiring.  I get we all vent at times. But I come here to chill, talk football, not get burdened with gripes.  I actually really enjoy following the offseason moves every year as the roster reshapes

Love getting a starting guard. But agree those are very average PFF #s
