I think he's reached his ceiling and is replaceable. However, a lot of people say you can get a good RB late in the draft and the Giants haven't hit on one since Bradshaw - despite giving it a go.

Sometimes it's better the devil you know. Tough choice for JS and company.

Last year I put I think $300 down on the Rangers to win the ECF. I forget what odds I got exactly, but I calculated the hypothetical take on a win to be about enough (or close) to get at least serviceable seats at MSG for one Cup game, should they be lucky enough to make it. Of course they didn't, which was too bad, but I still thought that was a decent enough way to play the situation. I don't like pissing away $300 any more than the next guy, but it's not the end of the world, either.

This year it's different. They're only 4-1 to win the ECF, which isn't much of a payout. I'm not even bothering at those odds. If they make the finals and I want to go, I'll probably just have to pay up. Not ideal, but it will be hard to pass up that opportunity. I could hit up business contacts, but I don't like owing people favors, which would definitely be the case if I had someone take me to a Rangers Cup finals game at MSG on the arm. Tough.

Right now I'm not worried about any of the above though. If they are lucky enough to get that far, I'll consider my options then.

Slightly more value in England. They are 15/2

Game one is Sunday afternoon

Does anyone know when the schedule is released. I need to start planning next week so I can avoid early meetings with the inevitable 3-4am finish.

Is there a position group where that's not the case?

Futile offense. This is no surprise.

Job done. Home ice advantage throughout.

What a regular season they've had.

Now onto the part that matters.

There are a few thirsty teams out there...so that was my thinking on it.

Fair enough. I don't think so, even if you take the dollars out of it.

Not with that contract, his availability and career production. No.

I see Chytil is involved in the morning skate.

Will stay up this evening to see if we can round off the season with the Presidents's Trophy.

Quote from: MightyGiants on April 11, 2024, 01:30:22 PMIt's been awhile, but I remember I wasn't all that high on Lock.

On the reason for optimism, Matt Waldman (a pretty good civilian talent evaluator) thinks that Lock might have turned the corner.   He is of the opinion (and he cites comments by Lock's father as evidence) that Lock was one of those young men who thought he had all the answers, and until he got to the NFL, he was getting by on his natural gifts.   Lock has since realized that he needs to focus on and work on his shortcomings to allow his natural talent to shine in the NFL.  It remains to be seen of Walman is correct, but it's a small reason for optimism.  Maybe Lock will be another Geno Smith.

I guess we will find out soon enough.

Quote from: MightyGiants on April 11, 2024, 12:51:17 PMYou're welcome, although I will confess I was also curious about the results.  Mike Lombardi said it's important to grade players and have access to past grades.  Otherwise, you can get so caught up in a current draft class that you start to overvalue them rather than seeing them in the context of other prospects.

Yes, that's why I was interested. It was surprising to see Lock graded higher than DJ.

Quote from: MightyGiants on April 11, 2024, 12:15:15 PMFinally, the NFL got their act together.  Here are Lance Zierlein's grades for the top 6 QB prospects this year and the current Giants QBs

Caleb- 6.74
Jayden Daniels-  6.73
Drake Maye-  6.50
JJ McCarthy-  6.40
Bo Nix-  6.39
Penix- 6.25

Current Giants

Devito - Not high enough to be graded
Daniel Jones- 6.30
Drew Lock- 6.40

Thanks.

If Burns plays like the company he's paid in, the Giants have a steal for a 2nd rounder.

Didn't help by:

1. Neal not taking off just yet and
2. Taking flyers on the likes of a "project" like Peart

The Giants have spent a lot on the line but they haven't drafted high picks save for Neal and Thomas (with a 50% hit rate on those).

For you guys who armchair scout and/or watch a lot of college ball - where in those lists would you place the current Giants QBs?
